Q:Are these blades hard on saws? Seems they would bog the motor down more than finer toothed blades.

Answer This Question

A:  Nonsense. A finer tooth blade bogs down a saw in wood in almost every application. The small TPI allows wood chips to be discarded instaed of building up in between the teeth. These Diablo Demon pruning blades are the best pruning blade available.

A:  My saw has done fine with these blades. A carpenter may have a more in-depth analysis, but I can tell you my saw is fine. I've used these blades for a couple of years now. Best wishes :)

A:  Maybe if you?re using a Harbor Freight reciprocating saw. Use the blade what it?s designed for, let the saw do the work and you?ll be fine.

A:  You mean to tell me you?ve never used a blade other than Milwaukees? You better put that tool away and read your manual entirely and watch yourself some YouTube videos on how to use your saw before you get hurt.

        by|Apr 24, 2023

A:  Yes, works great with Milwaukee Sawsall.

A:  Yes. They will work very well. To avoid excessive wear on the blade,I would avoid as much dirt and stones as possible. I've used mine to cut roots sticking out in the surface of my lawn. Just dig around the root where you need to make the cuts.

A:  They should work but I would buy the 12" blades if I were you. I used the 12" blades for removing tree roots in the yard and also removed an area of hedges. I was able to stick the blade all the way in the ground and cut out all of the root system. The blade would still cut other stuff after that. I am amazed with these blades.

A:  YES, BUT YOU NEED TO DIG AROUND THE ROOT AND CLEAN IT WITH A HOSE AND NOZZLE. THAT WAY THEY WILL LAST.

A:  Can't say I have dealt with Live Oak roots, but the Diablo blades with their carbide tips should work quite well. My suggestion-- go slowly and let the blade do the work. I've found that dividing a large cutting job into smaller parts/pieces makes it possible to tackle a fair sized cutting project.

A:  Yes, the blade will work. Oak being a hard wood will take a little longer. Just be patient and continue to apply pressure until it cuts through. Good luck.

A:  These blades are great. They will definitely work. I would try and remove the dirt around the root especially if it is rocky so the blade doesn't dull as fast. Also you might want to research removing roots because that is a good size root. I understand your frustration with the driveway but also want the least amount of damage for the tree.

A:  I ordered 2 packs four times (twice 9 , twice ordered 12 ) for home delivery. All 4 orders included only 1 blade. Was hassle to get corrected both via calling H.D. online and going in person to my local HD store.

A:  Went to the local store and the package at this price only had one blade. It bought it anyway since it was competitive with similar Milwaukee blades. I've been using Diablo for years and they're great blades.

Was looking for standard pruning blade, very aggressive tooth set but no luck. So I picked up a couple of these Diablo pruners and was more than happy with them. Only ended up using 1 to down several large limbs, and its still as sharp as new! The top half of this tree was dying and falling , not it can grow a new and live a long life

It’s real simple...THESE BLADES ROCK!! I’ve cut everything from 12” diameter limbs to massive roots, in the ground. The blades keep on cutting! Paired with a either a Milwaukee M12 or M18 Fuel Hackzall you can prune a tree all day with the same 3 amp HO (M18) or 6 amp (M12) and blade. I highly recommend. If you can get the buy one get one, do it! Now is the time to look for them at your local store.

Great blade for pruning trees. This is at least the third one I've purchased because they do break at the base where they insert into the saw because that is the weakest point but I still get a lot of use from them. I attach the saw to my pruning pole with large hose clamps to reach high branches.

                      Best pruning blade for Hackzall!
Best pruning blade for Hackzall! Cuts smoother and faster. Cuts 2x4s too. This pruning blade cuts smoother and faster with less jumping than the fleam style pruning blades on the Milwaukee M18 Hackzall. I was able to cut down an oversized 10 foot high privet hedge down to the stumps with one blade. I even cut some roots too. This 9” long, 3 teeth per inch carbide blade easily cut through 4” thick trunks. It helped to move saw back and forth to help clear the chips from the blade. I was even able to cut through a cluster of trunks (see picture). When the blade seemed dull I cleaned it with Palmolive dish soap (I ran out if Simple Green) using paper towel and ear swab and now it cuts like new. It worked so well I bought a second blade as a spare.
