Questions & Answers

How many of these drippers can I feed at a time and still get 1 gph?

I'm wondering how many of these drippers I can plug into a single 1/2" line before I start seeing significant differences in the flow rates from one end of the hose to the other. The pressure restrictor that I have to put up at the garden hose end makes me wonder how much water I can really get to these drippers.
Asked by: ObiWan
That is a very difficult question. The final result depends on the length and type of pipe that gets the water supply to the pressure restrictor. With each additional emitter the flow rate at 25 psi increases by one gallon per hour. This is strait forward but hard to calculate. There is a PDF available on the Rain Bird Site ( Landscape Irrigation Design Manual) that details all of the specifications for most types of pipes used in residential water installations.

1/2 inch vinyl tubing

do these just fit in the end of the tubing and require a small hose clamp?
Asked by: hogr
No, you insert them in the side of the 1/2" tubing where you need to apply water. There is a tool for piercing the tubing and inserting the barbed connector.

1 GPH Compensating Drippers (10-Pack) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great Been using DIG products for years now and love them. Only negative is that have large dog that sometimes breaks them off when chasing squirrels and crows so have to keep an eye on that part of the system. Have a large yard with lots of beds and most are now on drip lines hooked up to my automatic irrigation timer. 20 x 23 vegetable garden is on a drip line also
