Q:Description in the product details here online says up to 55 psi, however, I just received them after ordering and the package says up to 45 psi. Which one is it?

Answer This Question

A:  Max pressure for our new PC button drip emitters is around 55 psi where our previous model PC drip emitters were rated at a much lower max pressure of around 45 psi. Our packaging has not yet been updated to the new max pressure rating of our current PC button drip emitter. Q:does this dripper work with gravity fed system?

    Answer This Question

A:  All emitters of this type are intended to work at approximately 25 psi. So, if your gravity system can deliver this pressure, it should work. You can use a pressure gauge to check your pressure. I could not find one on the Home Depot website, but other irrigation supply stores have them. If your pressure is below 25 psi, water may still flow out of the emitter, but the amount of water will be below the rated value.

A:  Unfortunately, pressure compensating drip emitters like our B224B require a min. pressure of 10 psi. If you are looking for a dripper to use in a gravity feed system, I would recommend using our non-pressure compensating 4 gph flag drip emitter FN4A. Answer This Question

A:  The Red is a 4GPH dripper. I don't own the others, but just reviewing the HD site you could probably figure out the other colors. Black is likely non-pressure compensated, so will flow at different rates depending on how much pressure your system has. The barbed end goes onto the irrigation line, and the flat end is pointed at the plant it should be watering. If you want to ensure all of your drippers are putting out the same amount of pressure, you need to use pressure-compensating Drippers.

A:  Go back to HD and look at the various restrictors. The GPH is listed on the packaging. The colored tip usually has a "barb" on it that is inserted into the drip line. If you have a variety of plants on the same drip line and these plants have different water needs, then you'll need to either use different GPH restrictors or else run more than one line to the plants with higher water needs. Review the water needs of your plants to determine how long to run the system -- and how often.

A:  You will need to go online and print out the color coding as different brands have different colors . Some brands have color coding, some have the GPH (Gallons) or lph (liters) on the side of them, and some have both. For the purpose of garden watering 4 lph is pretty close to 1 GPH, since 4 l = 1.06 Gallon. As for how to install them; push the barbed end into the plastic tube/pipe. The barb holds the dripper on to the tube/pipe. The button drippers are designed for the lower water flow. We have seen from 0.5 GPH to 4 GPH. If you want a higher water flow you will need to go to a different style dripper.

A:  The red ones flow at a rate of 4 GPH (gallons per hour), the green ones flow at 2 GPH, and the black ones are 1 GPH. The side with the barb (colored) is the inlet side, which connects to the supply tubing. The water comes out of the non -barbed black side. A:  The gallons per hour (GPH) are written on each bag. Red tipped happen to be 4 gallons per hour. Colored part goes towards the water source. Colored part designed to push into the small spaghetti lines.

            Answer This Question

A:  No. The barb on the red end holds the 1/4 inch tubing on. Some of the fittings do not have colors on them, so, just remember that the barbed end holds the tubing on. FYI if you wish to remove dripper from the tubing you will have to cut it off by very carefully using a razor blade to cut the tubing and NOT the dripper OR YOUR HAND. BE SLOW and CAREFUL so you DON'T CUT your hand.

A:  The barbed connector is the correct choice to attach to the water supply line and is the water input. The water output is the smooth end.

A:  No the water supply goes on the red, barbed end. It would blow right out if you put the supply on the smooth end.

A:  The inlet side is the barbed side, the water comes out of the side with no barb.

we have used the DIG drippers for years, installation is quick and easy to give our customers yards a neat and professional look. also like the use of a color on the end to help identify the flow ratting if we need to go back for repairs.

DIG makes reliable products. In general they last longer than the other brands. The bugs do not seem to get stuck in this brand like some of the others as well. Some are labeled in liters, so you have to divide by 4 to get approximate GPH. I have used all of the available brands. If you are going to convert to drip irrigation I highly recommend this brand.
