AnswersBecause you can program and control the timer with your phone. Some people will find this works easier for them. However, you can program it after putting in the batteries before attaching it to your faucet. It does sound like a gimmick but hey, whatever works for them. Me, I like the idea of multi-zone wi-fi timers. But then why not just go all out and get a $2000-$5000 in-ground system. So yea, $66 is a bit much to control just one hose.
Question? after setting up the watering times it will water the plants on its own for up to a year?

AnswersYes that is correct, the batteries will need to be replaced eventually, usually they will last one to two years. You can check the battery strength level on the DIG APP.

AnswerYour water bill could go up, could remain the same, or could go down. It all depends on how long and often you were running the system before installing the timer and what kind of watering schedule you set up in the timer after it is installed.

AnswerThe BOHEB-BT has an expected battery life of 2 years with a name brand, alkaline pair of AA batteries. The App also gives you a battery level indicator every time you connect to you Bluetooth timer. I bought 3 of these timers for 3 raised gardens. One of the 3 won't turn off when there is back pressure. It works fine when hooked to a hose running free, but the drip system I have has back pressure. Maybe I got a bad one. Who knows. I am not going to risk flooding my garden.
Issue #2. The bluetooth range is terrible! I put one timer on the hoses bib to water all 3 gardens. The cell phone is on the other side of the wall. About 3 feet from the timer and it won't connect. I can get bluetooth data from a SensorPush sensor in my attic 40+ and 2 stories away from me but not from this.
Seemed like a good idea, but falls way short in my opinion.
Returning all 3.
DIG Bluetooth Hose End Timer

I was very disappointed with this timer. It leaked immediately after I installed it. No amount of thread sealant helped. The leak was from inside the timer’s housing. Fortunately, I returned the timer to the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement. Even the replacement leaks a little. I hope they are able to correct this defect. I would not recommend this product at this time.

We purchased 4 of these in prep for our garden. I had such high hopes for them. We have a number of other bluetooth devices that have worked extremely well. Overhead fans, for example. However, once we installed these 2 worked and 2 didn't. The two that didn't leaked like crazy so there was no way we could leave them in place. Of course we didn't find that out until after the return date. So I purchased two more thinking perhaps I just had some from a bad batch. Nope. Out of those 2 one leaked like crazy and the other we were able to set up and then it went dead and we're unable to even connect to it via bluetooth. I'm now looking for other options.
I'd sure like to return at least 2 of these defective items!

A fantastic little device with a versatile set functions that you to schedule the usage. The manual option has only one shortfall, you can’t set a default run time. It resets to 5 minutes.
