These Damp Rid strips work great to determine the best place to deal with excess moisture. I have used these prior to placing a Damp Rid moisture capture bucket and then after placing the bucket as well. It help to make sure how we are addressing the excess moisture is actually working. In helping fight off mold and other issues with excess moisture these are a great way to stay informed as to your plan of attack working.
Even if you are just wanting to know if your specific needs are truly an issue these are a great way to make that determination.

Monitor the humidity inside your home
DampRid Moisture Detection Strips are an inexpensive way to periodically monitor the humidity and dampness in the air in your home. They accurately measure the humidity by color changing dots on the strips. Within two hours you will have a reading to indicate moisture content in the air. According to the manufacturer, relative humidity should be kept below 60 percent, with 30-50 percent being the optimal range. If you get a reading above 60 percent, you may wish to take steps to mitigate the problem.

Easy to use Moisture detector strips
The moisture absorber detection strips can detect excess moisture before it becomes a problem. The optimal range for the relative humidity should be kept below 30% and 60 %.
the test strips are easy to use.simply remove a strip and place them in concerned areas for approx 2 hrs.The highest dot that changes to purple of pink indicates the level of humidity, and what action is required.

Works quickly
We have a motor home that tends to get damp in the underneath storage compartments. I placed one of the strip in one of the compartments and within ten minutes it was registering excess humidity. These would work well in basements or crawl spaces or anywhere else you would worry about humidity causing mold, mildew or that musty smell. They come individually wrapped and packaged well. They are very easy to use. If you have a dehumidifier in the basement that doesn't have an automatic humidity control these would work really well to let you know when you should use the dehumidifier.

Moisture detected (of course)
Each sealed packet includes a test strip and a desiccant pack to ensure freshness. I put these in several different spots in my basement and garage on a cool, not humid day. After about 45 minutes, the spots were well on their way to pink; after the 2-hour recommended test time, the strips were all pink, indicating a humidity level above 60%. I do believe the results of the test, but I also think It's kind of a clever way to make sure you buy more DampRid products.

Love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far in using this product I have experienced great results! These work wonders at detecting moisture that may otherwise go unnoticed without using a product like this. I use them in different rooms of my house and am able to detect where I need to use other DampRid products as well as dehumidifiers in order to get rid of the excess moisture in the air and to prevent molding. They provide very accurate results and are very easy to use and to read as well. This product comes very highly recommended by me!

Easy way to gauge air moisture.
I tried these moisture absorbing detection strips in my basement to see if I had too much moisture and needed to address this issue. I have a finished basement and do not use a dehumidifier. The strips are individually wrapped and simple to use. You just remove the strip from the package and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Spots change from blue to pink as they detect levels of moisture in the air. Anything above 60 percent should be addressed. I was over 60 percent in my basement. I tried the strips up in my living from to make sure they did not always read over 60 percent and the living room measured under.

Moisture Dots
These DampRid detection strips are really interesting to use. You just open the package and put it wherever you feel there may be too much moisture. The blue dots will change color and each color tells you how much moisture is in that area. The dots change to purple or pink which gives the level of moisture in the air. If the dot stays blue, then it’s fine. Very interesting concept. It helps you decide what to use in various areas as well depending on the size of room you are testing.

Just Okay
I expected to love this item simply because I have used other DampRid products. But it was not the case this time. The moisture strips are easy to use. There are 5 to package. It starts out a blue and starts to change color. I placed one in my bathroom and within hours it turned pink which means al ot of moisture in the air. I put one in my closet, same event. Maybe it's because I live in Florida and we run the central air, but I am a bit skeptical about the results. Also, once you get the results the box will recommendation which other product to use.

Seems to work
While these strips are easy to use, I'm not sure if they are accurate. I know my basement has a moisture issue, but yet my reading didn't seem to indicate that. I'll try them again in the summer when the humidity is at it's peak to see what readings I get.
I wish the colors were darker and clearer so that you could see exactly what the reading is. It's very faint.
