Provide clean and refreshing environments by using DampRid's Fragrance-Free Moisture Absorber Refill in 7.5 lbs. Super Refill Container, capable of replenishing all refillable DampRid products in various sizes. Simply confirm your container is refillable by checking the package. DampRid performs similarly to dehumidifiers, attracting and trapping excess moisture within commercial and residential areas while also working to eliminate unpleasant, lingering odors. As humid air passes over the product, the Calcium Chloride attracts the excess moisture out of the air and traps it in the container, leaving behind more comfortable air. This prevents damage caused by excessive moisture and foul odors to clothes, fabrics and household goods. The 7.5 lbs. Super Refill will allow you to keep DampRid working to improve your living or workspaces. Caution as the product can irritate eyes and is harmful if swallowed; keep out of reach of children. Q:Would this be practical to use under flooring of a cottage built on concrete pads? It's only about 2-3 feet deep under the building and is challenge with air flow so moisture inevitably gets trapped underneath and possibly causing wood rot.

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question, we do not recommend using DampRid under flooring of a cottage built on concrete pads.

by|Nov 26, 2022

A:  No, because this stuff will melt and you will have liquid Calcium Chloride.

    by|Dec 2, 2022

A:  I don't think that is a good idea, I am not an expert but since this product absorbs moisture it might hold it as well and over time could cause more problems.

      by|Nov 29, 2022

A:  Not really sure. This one is usually poured into one of their containers. Perhaps if you called or emailed the company they might be able to help you. Perhaps they have another product that might be more suitable.

        by|Nov 28, 2022

A:  The damp rid is two cups - the top slotted cup holds the damp rid material, and the cup below will have the water it pulls out of the air in it. If you put the cups under the flooring, you'll need to add damp rid material over time and empty the water cup.

          by|Dec 3, 2022

A:  That issue probably should be addressed by a professional versed in dealing with mitigation of moisture that could lead to wood rot. This product isn’t intended in my estimation to deal with such a situation but works well to eliminate moisture levels in closed areas within my house.

            by|Dec 2, 2022

A:  Yes, this is perfect for limited air flow areas. Although it must be changed regularly since as it absorbs moisture it changes to liquid. The humidity level will determine how often it must be changed.

A:  Have used this for years and will continue to use it. My shoes in my closet used to get mold on them if they sat for too long. I started using damprid and don't have that problem any more. I use it in all my closets and under sinks. Love this stuff!

A:  There is other product available that is made especially for preserving flowers. You can "google" and ask what do florists use or just ask what product is recommended.

A:  hilary - DampRid’s crystals absorb excess moisture in the air to create and maintain the optimal humidity level wherever moisture is a problem. They will help keep the area dry but are not meant to be used this way. The crystals dissolve into a liquid brine that has to be discarded every 60 days. The crystals and the liquid should be placed so they do not physically contact your belongings. Please contact our DampRid helpline at 1-800-398-3892 if you would like more details or if there is anything we can do to assist you.

For anyone that has moisture in the home, this is the best product to use. My house sits close to the ground so when it rains I get moisture. But Damp Rid gets the moisture out so my household things are not damaged. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. I swear by this stuff.

DampRid is the best product to remove any moisture that develops. The bulk purchase container is great as you just refill your smaller containers saving you money. We keep DampRid in our Motor home when in storage, small containers in closets under sink and bathrooms. This keeps any build up of moisture from causing damage to our unit It also keeps any musky smell from developing.

DampRid 7.5 lbs. Moisture Absorber Refill is for refilling spent moisture absorbent that comes in their bucket products. DampRid is a great product, no hassle it dissolves and just disappears as its used up. The water it attracts fills the bottom of the bucket container that you can just empty in the drain. The refills are the same granular material originally included and is more economical to reuse the bucket and pan when the original material is spent. I've been using Damprid for a couple of years now. I use it for the small enclosed storeroom under my porch steps. It accumulates moisture when the bricks sweat. This in the past has caused mold to grow and I am concerned it could seep into the house. Since using it haven't had any mold build-up. Its a simple cheap solution until I get around to a permanent fix. I was buying two buckets a year and now with this refill I can just change the spent absorbent instead. Its OEM, looks the same as the original material so pleased with the savings.

I received this product in a three bottle container of 7.5 pounds each, which is a real bargain. They contain non-toxic, odorless, non flammable white crystals, which absorb moisture and eliminate musty odors from the air. When moisture is being absorbed the white crystals begin to harden and clump, eventually dissolving.I am not sure why but we have a problem with excess moisture in the garage and inside our home.We have a portable dehumidifier, which helps remove the moisture from the air, but we needed something in addition to that, so I was excited to try this product.I poured the crystals into four separate attractive containers and placed one in the master bath, one in the kitchen, one in the utility room, and one in the garage. After only a few days the crystals are already starting to form clumps, so it seems to be working. This is a great product.

DampRid moisture absorber pellets work well. I recently retrieved my passport from my small safe and discovered it was damp and mildewy. I ordered this product to put in the safe to absorb moisture. So far it is working as designed and keeping my safe dry. It has a multitude of uses around the home, workshop, garage and basement. I'm also using it in my storage room in the basement that tends to get moisture. It can also be mixed in with kitty litter to help absorb moisture and odors there also. This is a refill product only, so make sure you have a container to hold the pellets. I find that old room freshener containers work well because they have a vented top.

First off I absolutely love DampRid. I have used it for years in our laundry room and the self made linen closet under the stairs in our house. It removes all the excess moisture in the air so we don't get that dank smell of mold and must in either area. We have piles of blankets and pillows under the stairs on shelfs and they come out smelling as clean as when they were put in there thanks to DampRid. It saves us from having to re-wash everything before using if for a guest or relative if they come to visit. Prior to DampRid you would have to do the sniff test to see if it smelled bad. Now when we pull something out it smells like laundry detergent no matter how long it's been since we washed it or used it last. Just one of these 7.5 lbs. containers refills my 10.5 oz. refillable tubs 11 times making it a substantial cost savings. DampRid is recommended for use in closets, bathrooms, laundry rooms, storage sheds, basements, garages, stored boats & RV's. If you have never used their products I highly recommend them. They also have the same product with a variety of different scents. If you are looking for something to help your home smell fresher I would look no further.

Damp Rid is the single best product ever if you live near a coast or in humid conditions. I love that this tub is 7.5lbs and can replace all the small containers when needed. Huge savings! This product is great for closets, near window seals, etc. You can fancy up small containers with blows and ribbons and people never know what is inside. You can tactfully display these anywhere you think you have a moisture situation.

I would recommend Moisture Absorber Refill. I have been using this stuff for years and will continue to use it. There are so many great uses for it and the product does really work. I like the Refill option, so that I can just refill the containers I already have without having to purchase more. A couple of the best uses that I have found is using it in my camp trailer, I have a container that I place in my camp trailer over the winter and in the summer the Moisture Absorber bucket is half full of water moisture that it collected from inside my trailer. Another great use is I place a small bucket full in my safe, it keeps the moisture away from my paper documents and other items that I have placed in my safe. This is a large refill at 7.5 lbs, so it should last for a while. This can be used inside and outside of your home, any room in your house, storage areas, boats, RV's, and safes. Works great and you will not be disappointed.
