The temperature settings are from 1 to 7 with the higher the number the colder the temperature in the unit. As this is a manual setting and not a digital one we would recommend you set the unit at 4 and after 2 hours you can confirm the temperature using a thermometer. A:  There is no temperature readout on the freezer. I use an inexpensive refrigerator/freezer thermometer and monitor the inside temperature at various settings until I get dialed into the temperature that I want. I do not know how the manufacturer actually monitors and controls the temperature but I am guessing that the control is not highly calibrated such that a particular temperature equates to a specific number on the dial. By using a thermometer as suggested, you will find the setting that works for your freezer.

A:  I have had this freezer for two years after having another one for 35 years. I HATE this freezer no matter what setting it is on, EVERYTHING becomes freezer burnt. I have reached out to both Danby and Home Depot and have had no satisfaction. Wish I had never purchased this. My frrezer of 35 years worked better

A:  Ni it does not. And I am not happy with it. I have to defrost it.. No it does not have a light.. It was quite expensive. would not recommend it to anyone...
