Magnifica XS Compact Fully Automatic Black and Silver Espresso Machine and Cappuccino Maker

We love our new Magnifica XSAutomatic Espresso Machine. It looks beautiful, the coffee and lattes we have made are excellent. This machine is easy to operate. We highly recommend this machine if you’re in the market for an espresso machine.

This coffee maker is perfection. After many years of service, our last DeLonghi gave up the ship and it was a sad day indeed. We purchased this Magnifica XS and really like this one even better. Puts out a great cup of espresso with the push of a button. I would by it again in a heartbeat.

I have not been drinking coffee as much because the coffee from my normal machine just hasn't been doing it for me. I fully expected this to be complicated and was thinking I'd only use it every now and then. To my surprise, it's super easy to use and I use it everyday! The machine is just the right size, not too bulky, which is good because I have limited counter space. There is definitely a bit of a learning curve. I'm not coffee expert so I had to learn. The instructions it comes with are very thorough and easy to understand. Once you get it; it's as easy as the press of a button! You can really customize every feature; coffee temperature, intensity, coffee type..etc. I'm really enjoying cappuccinos and lattes. So exciting that I get to have coffee house drinks every day within minutes! You can use whole beans or espresso powder. I will say I have had better experience with the beans. They grind down fast and produce fresher coffee.The amount of beans per cup used is very little so I don't have to go through several bags a month. The espresso powder works/taste fine but I have had a little trouble getting the machine to accept the powder after I put it in. It will often get stuck/blocked in the little chute and I have to push it through manually. Not a huge deal but the beans are better to use. I haven't had any issues with those getting clogged or backed up. The coffee brews very fast too! I was impressed it produced coffee straight from bean to cup so quickly. It's very easy to clean out the coffee grounds as well, they just plop into the bottom. The milk frother is really fun and easy to use also. I'm getting better at it. I've found that adding a little liquid creamer to the milk makes extra smooth, dense froth and adds a bit of flavor as well. I find I don't need as much sugar that way. Overall, a great machine. I'm enjoying it so far and hope it lasts a long time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm never going back to another coffee shop, to my 8 cup machine or to my pod machine. This espresso/cappuccino/miracle maker is incredible!!! Now let me start off with how daunting this machine looks when you first take it out. It is intimidating. Don't let that fool you though. It's super easy and really fun. Took probably 5 min for setup after reading the instructions. It's already preset up with the average coffee ground setting people prefer, I adjusted it slightly stronger to my liking which was super easy to do. So easy to make espresso shots, and cappuccino/lattes! The step by step instructions are really easy to follow and made me a barista in no time. I've made multiple drinks a day, and have impressed my husband, family and friends. The milk steamer is really easy to use and clean as well. I've also appreciated that the machine cleans itself when it starts up and gets shut down. So make sure you have glasses under the spouts to catch the water. I also recommend running the water through the milk steamer as well to make sure you don't have any milk trapped up. This machine also has a eco mode which helps save energy, which is very innovative for a coffee maker. It's extremely easy to turn eco on and off. The small design takes up the same amount of space as a pod machine and is perfect for a novice or beginner. I've already run out and bought mocha and caramel syrup so I can try more drinks. Overall I'm so extremely happy with this machine. Every coffee lover needs this ! Also want to add I've saved over $50 from visiting coffee shops!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time owning this type of machine and I was intimidated because I am not a barista but I drink coffee a lot. I read the user manual and watched online video tutorials before I attempted to make my own cappuccino. It was awesome because everything is so easy to operate with just a few presses of buttons. It is really freshly made at home and is always a great experience. The milk produced the perfect froth and the brewed coffee tastes crisp and fresh and has the perfect coffee aroma. The beans were grounded as it was brewed and it really tasted like professionally made cappuccino and I felt proud of myself. This machine is also very easy to clean and maintain. My recommendation for future customers to avoid using coffee beans that are oily. Overall, this machine added aesthetic value to my kitchen, and made entertaining visitors and family and friends more fun.

Love it had a bigger one previously and this one is better!!

I purchased the Delonghi Magnifica XS ECAM22110SB April 2013. It retails for $900, but I paid $686 on sale. Prior I had a Breville Barista Express, and although having fun at first, it became more of a labor of love for me to operate. I enjoy mostly lattes and caps, while my wife likes strait coffee. For the price, this machine is GREAT. Yes, it’s wrapped in plastic and you cannot "dial in" a precise shot like with a manual machine, but for us, it fits the bill. A descent priced super auto :)

I am pleased with the machine a lot. The instructions written in the book not always descriptive enough. But I called Customer Service and a very knowledgeable and helpful representative walked me through the beginning of setting up machine and it worked perfectly!

Great machine! Easy to use and very functional. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great automatic espresso/cappuccino maker!
