A: The Clear Top Coat can be used over a hard craft surface, but is specifically formulated to be poured over flexible surfaces, like canvas. As a result, this product takes several days to dry and does NOT cure to a hard surface like epoxy. DecoArt does not recommend setting any object on the finished surface. This is only for decorative projects only. It creates a high-end finish with this one-step pouring topcoat. Dries to a lacquer-like, high-gloss finish. Ideal for canvases, wood panels, or other flat art surfaces. Directions: Do not shake. Pour over dry, painted surface until completely covered. Tilt surface for even coverage and drain off excess to prevent pooling. Smooth out sides with a palette knife or brush. Place at a 45° angle and allow to air dry overnight. If a thicker finish is desired, apply a second coat and place surface at the opposite 45° angle. Avoid disturbing surface while topcoat is drying. Application temperature above 50°F. Do not freeze. Covers approximately 2 sq. ft. (16" x 20" canvas). Water-based. Self-leveling. Non-yellowing. Soap and water clean up.
A: Unfortunately, the answer is no. They are completely different resin bases and may or may not mix correctly. Also, we have not tested this product with other manufacturer's products, so we cannot guarantee results. -DecoArt Paint Guru
A: The short answer is yes it can. However, we have not tested it on Styrofoam, so we don't know exactly how it will react or what the finished project will look like. It depends on a number of factors...the Styrofoam's density (with regard to being porous) and if the Styrofoam has been based coated or painted before applying the Topcoat. Because it's a porous substrate, it might look "pitted" when dry. We highly suggest you test it on a small area of the project first and let it dry for 24-48 hours to ensure it delivers the look you want. -DecoArt Paint Guru
