Great POE system
The Sentinel system is exactly what I have been looking for! We loved the easy set up with 1 cable for footage and power! We didn't have to worry about power adapters or power bars. The great 4k resolution with motion detection is awesome! I have 1 camera in the backyard to check what critters that may be running by after the winter thaw!

Top of the market
This is my second set of defender cameras. My first set I got over 10 years ago and I was really pleased with them so I decided to upgrade and get the newest version. This 4K system is absolutely amazing. The quality of the photos, the video, and my favorite part of it all is the motion sensors that I get alerts for directly to my phone. I strongly recommend anyone in the market for a great security camera system defender is the one.

Amazing Cameras + Sound + Wide Angle!!
The whole system comes well packaged in the box. Everything is nice, clean, and tidy which you'll see is carried on in the whole system and software. Everything is quality and is as simple to set up as possible. The hardest part for me was running the cables through the attic and finding the best locations for the cameras (about 8 feet or slightly higher), but it was well worth doing. Everything else was easy.
The cameras themselves are solid in construction, and they produce clear images day and night. They seriously blow my old wired 720p system out of the water and are superior to my wireless 2k cameras. In addition, they have sound. My children have been in a few minor fights with each other and the sound really helps put what happened into perspective. With the sound I actually know why the fight happened.
Unlike my old wired system, there is only 1 Ethernet cord per camera that goes from the NVR into the attic and out to the camera. You won't need to run a separate power cable.
I'm very happy with everything. I love knowing that I can access the cameras remotely on my phone and not just on the DVR. You'll hear and see everything you need to and you'll have the ability to eliminate false alarms such as leaves falling, birds flying by, dogs walking by, etc, and just detect humans.

Installation was a breeze. Cameras are clear with a moderate amount of view. With the exception of a few areas where I needed longer wire runs everything required was in the box. Only hiccups are that the setup process can be a little tedious and the app is a little awkward to navigate from my phone. Everything I needed in a camera system at an affordable price.

2 systems installed - happy customers!
We had 2, 16 camera systems installed in our business. They replaced our older system. The installation of the cameras was quite simple and the set up took little time.
From a security perspective, we are pleased with the high quality of the video/feed and in reviewing past recordings, we found it easy to go back and find specific dates for review.
Over the years we have had three systems and following our research, we are certainly pleased with the Sentinel Defender camera systems.

Great camera system for the price
This is a great camera system for the money. I actually bought the 4 camera system first and then realized that I needed more cameras to cover our large property. My advice is to buy a system with a box that can handle more cameras than you think you need right now. That way you can add cameras in the future without having to replace the main unit. Picture quality is very good. multi view, notifications, and incident search all work great. The only small issue is that it pauses frequently during playback for a few seconds each time. Other than that, this system rocks.

Nice Camera System
Giving it 4 stars because it is a good system with nice quality cameras but:
1. It came with a faulty Cat5e cable, it has power but no connection is detected.
2. The human body alarm is faulty when camera is set on an angle, I have one installed at my porch area and it keeps thinking the tree or even my front door mat is a human body..
3. The night vision light can be a bit annoying sometimes, I don't think I've found a promising solution to have it turned off completely or not that sensitive.

NVR system is dying with no support from Denfender
Just wanted everyone to know that my NVR system was working great for several months, and then one by one the cameras started losing their signal and dying off. It’s not a cabling issue, its not a camera issue, the system itself is crapping out. I have contacted Defender for support multiple times since I am still well within the 1 year warranty, but I’m not getting any help/support. Whatever you do, buy another system! It is incredibly frustrating dealing with a company that just ghosts you instead of trying to help.
