Questions & Answers

How do I manually turn on the lights

My timer is set for 8-10 pm. On occasion I need to turn on the lights at 8am. How do I turn on the lights without disturbing the programmed time?
Asked by: Dick
There is no 'manual mode' as much as we'd all like to have one. Just rotate the dial 'till they turn on, reset to current time to reset. Easy-peasy!

The timer is not turning my front porch light on unless I manually rotate the dial 360 deg. back into the set time period. Any reason why this is?

I come home from work and the arrow time is correct - smack in the middle of the "segments" that I pushed out to set the time period...but the light is NOT ON. But when I rotate the dial (and the time) out of the set time period which are indicated by the pushed out segments and then back into the set time period, the light clicks on as it should. Every night it turns off after the time exits the set period on the timer. It's like it only turns on if it is manually rotated into the set time period, rather than rotating in by the timer. It does turn off correctly. Any thoughts as to why this is happening. Thanks so much for any feedback.

The timer needs power to run - you have to connect the red lead to your line feed from your panel, black to your load (lamp), green to neutral. If you don't know how to do this hire an electrician.

Wires

Only I got red & Black 2 Wires. no white and no green wires. I don't know what to do?
Asked by: stevy
Wires on your timer? Or wires in your switch box? Some lighting circuits only have the hot side to switch the lamp. This timer needs both legs - line and neutral - to power the timer. If you can't fish up a neutral side of your circuit this timer won't work.
