A: Hello Trish, thank you for your question. It is not recommended to plug in an extension cord into this timer. If you have any other questions, please give us a call between the hours of 7 AM – 8 PM Central Standard Time, Monday thru Friday at 1-800-654-8483, press option 2
A: There are 48 segments around the edge of the dial. Each segment controls 30 minutes of the day. You set them by putting your fingernail under the edge of the segment and lifting it, or pushing the segment in. If the segment is pushed in, the power will be on, if the segment is pulled out the power will be off. How I remember: In and on are both two-letter words. Out and off are both three-letter words. Hope this helped.
A: Each of the gray pins around the timer go up for off and push them down for on. Super easy to do.
A: If you are asking how to set the device to follow a schedule, there is a slider switch on the top that shows something like On and Timer. If you want the device to follow a schedule if you are going to be away from home, for example, set it to Timer, otherwise set it to On and you can turn whatever is plugged into it on or off manually. If you want to set a schedule, make sure all of the pins surrounding the dial are up. Then push them down from the start time to end time for all periods desired. Then you can use the slider to follow the schedule.

A: Yes, provided you know the specific time “just after daylight “ is.
A: You can set the timer at 3:00 am and the choose for it to stay on: 4 or 6hrs. Should work for you.
A: No. Both outlets do the same thing. And I don't think you could plug two of them into the same duplex outlet.
