Dusk-Dawn timer is Wonderful
The boxy part of the timer does not take up space in the outlet itself - it will hang out of the way. Very pleased with the device and its price.

Great tool. I used it to split the electric needs for my fountain. One part of the plug is for the water pump, it runs continuously. The other outlet is for the fountain lights.
I attached a dust to dawn timer so the lights only burn at night. This tool slowed me to use one outlet for 2 electrical functions. 5 stars and to get into close quarters. One of the fountain plugs was on a big box.

I chose this item because (1) it was fairly priced (2) there were over 2000 reviews with an average of 4+ score. Oh the advantages of shopping online: I could make a good selection, and then Home Depot shows me the stock of nearby stores.

I ordered this device despite several negative reviews. I wanted to have used it long enough to make an educated and fair review.
I find the product to be well made and adequately sturdy in composition. The timer by hours eliminates the need to set a dial or digital On/Off patterns; simply turn the dial to OFF when the device is not in use. It's not even necessary to remove whatever is plugged into it, if it's not an often used outlet - which mine is not. It would have been more outdoor friendly if it had a cover or hood that closed over the controls, thus the four stars. For my purposes however (under an eave; see photos), it's more than adequate. The casing is sturdy and the dial tight but freely functional - ideal for outdoors. I've had it in use for a week now and the time on and off are consistent within a minute or two so I consider the device reliable. Having this count down timer has eliminated the need to turn holiday lights on and off at a switch in a cold garage! Recommended for quality and value.
