On my most recent one i didnt have to do anything but screw it on .On other doors ive had to mortice it in with a chisel if there wasnt sufficient room between the door and the jamb when the door was closed.. This is a fairly thick piece of metal so i could see how on super tight doors youd have to inset it.. For most doors, no
mine came with 6 screws plus 3 more extra long screws.
The instructions provided on the package give the distance between centers is 5 1/2 inches or 14 .0 cm
It is made for the standard pre-cut door lock as long as your door lock is around 5 and 1/2 in it should work perfect which is the standard cut for us door
Currently we do not offer a latch strike that is 6" center to center.
