Hi Anthony, We do not have any units that will have a keypad on the inside and outside of the door. Thank you for your question.
Programming any Hubspace lock requires you to use the Hubspace app. There you can add and select the lock. Then set the Admin pin code and add user codes. You can visit our YouTube channel Defiant Door Hardware for videos on this process. Thank you.
Hi Amoff21, No, this product does not utilize NFC or anything like that. This deadbolt opens via Alexa/Google, Keypad, Hubspace App, or included key. Thank you for your question.
Hi there, We are very sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with the Round Biometric Deadbolt. It sounds incredibly frustrating to have to reset the unit constantly. The behavior you're describing—the lock working temporarily and then becoming unresponsive—is certainly not the experience we want for our customers. This can sometimes be related to the internal cable connection or a potential defect in the touch sensor or touchpad itself. There could also be a connection issue in the battery compartment. We would love the opportunity to make this right: Troubleshooting: Sometimes a quick "factory reset" (different from just pulling batteries) or checking that the data cable isn't pinched during installation can solve this. Warranty Support: This unit is covered under a 1-year electronic warranty, but even if you're over that time, we would still be happy to help you to resolve this issue. Please reach out to our support team at 1-877-663-5625 (Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST). We want to ensure your home is secure and your lock is reliable. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Best regards.
Hi Rudy. If you would like to see a video that shows how to set a code for this product, please visit our YouTube channel, Defiant Door Hardware. There we have several videos on this and many other items. Thank you for your question.
Hi Keith, It is definitely frustrating when a simple maintenance task like changing batteries leads to a unit that won’t operate as before. There are a few specific things that usually cause this: Check Battery Type, Voltage, and Orientation • Use High-Quality Alkaline: Ensure you are using four brand-new AA Alkaline batteries. • Ensure Adequate Voltage: A simple rule to follow is “new batteries do not equal good batteries.” Any battery can lose voltage over time, even when not in use. AA and AAA batteries come from the factory with a voltage higher than 1.5 volts. But this voltage degrades over time, and this lockset requires a minimum of 1.375 volts to operate. • Double-Check Polarity: It sounds simple, but it’s easy to flip one the wrong way in the dark. • Avoid Rechargeable/Lithium: These often have different voltage curves that can confuse the lock’s sensors or cause it to report "low battery" immediately. Hopefully this feedback is helpful. If you are still having an issue with the lock after trying these steps, please call our support team at 1-877-663-5625 (Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST) and we will be happy to help you to resolve this issue. Thank you.
Hi ZM33, There are 2 things that can cause this issue. 1. Battery corrosion on the terminals. If you see a powdery substance on the terminals, it will need to be cleaned off. Corrosion comes from batteries and can impede voltage output. 2. Your batteries do not have the 1.37 volts required to operate the unit. You can eliminate this cause by putting the batteries on a digital tester. Please note, new batteries do not equal good batteries. Batteries can lose voltage over time, even when not in use. If you are still running into an issue after eliminating these steps, please call our support team at 1-877-663-5625 (Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST) and we will be happy to assist you to fix this issue. Thank you.
Hi Marco, Yes, this lock can be unlocked or locked from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection and you have paired and are using the included smart plug within 20 feet of the deadbolt. Thank you for your question.
