when you open package it says.. max 16 volts... I have a 24 volt transformer which operates the ding dong chime. ... how long will the LED last.
Someone else said it works for transformers between 16-24V. So which is it?! Also, this is an AC voltage, the transformer coverts 120VAC down to 16-24VAC, depending on the model.
Hi! Thank you for your inquiry. It will not work with a 24 volts transformer.
I installed this button and it seems to work fine as long as you press and hold the button. If you just press and release, the chimes stop as soon as you release the button. The old button would allow the chimes to finish even with a press and release.
You are probably missing the diode, that little converter wire connected from one end to the other end of the push button.
Install a 1 Amp diode 1N4003 across the two screws in the switch. The push button will trigger the chime and the diode will maintain a contact so that the chimes will finish.

It worked fine 3days after installing doorbell doesn't ring ,just making a buzzing noise. All wires are tight..any ideas?
