Will this Venetian Bronze, Delta 9" Residential Assist Bar work outside?
I have 4 of these outside for 4 years. 2 of them get rained on with no discoloration or rust. The other two are in my screened porch which other then screen they are outside. They don't get rained on but there is plenty of humidity. Still look great.
I have used this exact hand rail for at least 10 years outside next to my backdoor entrance. It has served us very well. I’m ordering the very same one again for porch steps, utility building entrance, and my son’s house. (What I like best is the angle).
It will work wherever you fasten it to a solid base.

Yes it can be mounted vertically, horizontally or diagonally, whichever suits your needs. (see Picture) Be sure the screws engage the studs or a wooden cabinet to insure the most secure installation.

The bar is sturdy. It depends how you are going to attach it to the wall. If you can attach to a stud in the wall or the wood door jam that would be great.

Seems to me you could use this anywhere that a grab bar is needed for stability. Actually, mounting it near a dog gate is a great idea. Just be sure you mount it so that it engages studs or use anchors that strengthen the mounting reliability.

When mounted the dimensions are 9 1/2" to the outside of the brackets and the bar measures 7 1/2" to the inside of the brackets.
