Why the noise level is increasing?

Make sure you clean the fan regularly to reduce the drag on blades, noise level, and energy consumption, as well as risk of fire.

does it work like a ventilation fan?

Answers

Yes. It is mainly built for a bathroom ventilation fan, but I put it in my tool room in the basement (unfinished 11' by 10' room) with an exhaust hose to the outside to help remove paint or other chemical odors from projects built in the tool room.Takes about 30 seconds to spin up, so don't panic when you first turn it on and nothing happens. Quiet and efficient.

The unit is 7.25 by 7.5, but you could just add a spacer/board/shim to the extra space and install the fan. The cover 'should' be large enough to hide the spacer. Good luck! FYI - it takes about 15-20 seconds for the fan to spin up--it is not instant ON. So don't freak out when it does not come on immediately.

How close can the first elbow be to the housing?

Asked by Charlie September 11, 2020

Answers

As shown in the picture, there's a 2 inch flange on the exhaust outlet. Inside the flange is a one-way valve (so air only goes out), so you wouldn't want to remove it. I suppose you could elbow off of the flange, so maybe 2 inches off the metal housing? Keep in mind that any bends are going to increase the back pressure and reduce the flow rate.

How are the ends of the vent cover clips inserted into the slots in the fan housing? Do you have to bend the tabs?

Pull the spring clips together and slid into the slot. I believe the instructions have a diagram. You dont need to bend anything.

I used a 3” flex duct off the unit (that I ordered online) and then used a reducer (which I think I also got online) to get from 3” to 4” in order to connect to a standard 4” sidewalk vent cap w/ louver (that you can buy at HD). My issue was that I couldn’t find a 3” vent cap. I don’t know if going from 3” to 4” affects performance, but I didn’t know how else to accomplish the installation.

The delta breez slim 50 series fan is a fan only where as the delta breez integrity series 50 fan has a dimmable LED light. The integrity series is a lower sone (quieter) rating and has a higher cfm rating than the slim 50 also.

Quiet compared to Broan
I was looking for a quiet fan. perfectly to be relax while shower, I bought it since the duct size is 3 inc. Make sure you have a pry bar to remove you existing fan from new construction! also with in cold weather run the fan 10 mins before shower so the duct get aclimate, since the duct get cold and will create condensation, specially when the duct run vertically to the roof (I learned this during my research). Finally I can listen music while shower!

Great fan! We just finished installing this in our wall because our old one was incredibly loud. And compared to the old one, this one is built so much better. The housing is better quality, wiring was super easy, and getting the fan into the housing was simple. The duct adapter works well too, we needed to buy a 3in to 4in adapter separately but it worked perfectly with this unit. It starts up silently and when it gets to full power you can just barely hear it. Love it so far!

Packaged nicely, came pretty fast. The fan itself is a compact size. The installation was pretty easy, I think a person with little experience can install it.the fan works great for a small bathroom, it is also not noisy at all compared to the old style noisy fans. I would definitely recommend to help keep the mold away!

Really quiet sometimes i don't hear it on
Really quiet sometimes i don't hear it on. I ordered two of these bathroom exhaust fans on April 22, 2020 i replaced my old one that was too loud which i kinda regret because this one is too quiet and you can hear what's going on in the bathroom. But overall super quiet no complaints there. Installation was easy a pain in the rear removing the old unit. It was installed around June 2020. Now complaint is that once it starts the fan grinds on start up. Not even 4 months and it's not working properly. I like to take hot shower and the mirror in the bathroom still fogs up. Overall really quiet, doesn't force out the steam, and it's not starting up like it use to when installed. Will not recommend it.

My older unit was Loud and did not exhaust much so I was just looking for quiet one. I am regretting bit that I should upgraded CFM at the same time as well. This unit is quiet, but not too strong for the area that I had. (Maybe it was at the boarder line to go up next grade). Install was supposed to be simple but I had so much restriction, and being different design (location of exhaust and wires) from previous model, I battled a bit but product itself is all good. Damping mechanism (little tab) pin broke so easily when I tried to put it back together after came out. So I just had to modify a bit using tiny nails. At least it is functioning( Open/close).

Purchased 2 for a remodel & am very pleased with how quiet they are. Installation was a "Breez" :). The instructions were easy to read & understand. They are a bit large but they look good installed. The suction is very good & more than enough for our guest & master bathrooms. I will be adding power to my shed & I will be installing one in it for when I'm working in it & need better ventilation in the winter time & cold days.

It’s what I needed but could be better
I managed to install two of these to replace existing ancient fans in my condo. They are what I needed and I’m just glad they fit, but there are certainly improvements to be made. For one, unlike the bigger model, this humidity sensor is not adjustable. It is set at 60% plus or minus a 10% accuracy variance. It is fine now in winter but I am unsure if this will be a problem in the summer. Attaching the duct and electrical connections could be made much easier. The duct adaptor attaches to the outside, so you have to position it before getting the box installed, which is difficult in a retrofit with minimal space; it would be better to be able to pull the duct into the box slightly and then attach the adaptor, like the Panasonic EZ supposedly allows. Similar problem with the electrical connections: for the most part it has to be done outside and above the box, although you can take the second cover off the inside to do the actual wiring from there. Also, the cover is rather small and just barely fits over the hole in the drywall. Overall not bad but could be better.

We own 4 now and they're great. We leave them on all the time and they only turn on/ramp up when needed helping AC to clear humidity after a shower or when it happens to be high. You can switch it into High mode (yellow LED light) when you need to clear some bio fumes and back to normal (blue LED light) by a flip of the wall switch, small wait in between. The blue LED even serves as a pretty effective nightlight. A+

Although installation from room-side was a little awkward, the unit performs as expected in a small bathroom. I like the power indicator led behind the grill as a quick visual check to confirm the fan functionality. It is much quieter than the fan it replaced and cannot be heard in the adjoining bedroom.

I needed an efficient exhaust fan for a bathroom remodel and this fits the need perfectly. It's easy to install and relatively quiet while moving a lot of air out of the bathroom. It's a DC fan motor, so it has a slow spin-up but once it's reached full speed is still quiet and moves a lot of air. I have no way of quantifying the actual amount of air against the 70CFM specified value, but my fans (I've since installed another in the second bathroom) vent into an 8 foot long 3 inch diameter metal duct to the eave of the house and I've detected no degraded performance.
