The pop up stopper mechanism interferes with the wall

The connection between the horizontal rod and the vertical strap under the sink is adjustable, so the lift rod may not need to pull out as far. Is it normal for the copper water tubes to move when I install the braided water lines.

The gasket is showing above the sink and is a different color than the faucet. Is this correct? It seems a bit cheap considering how expensive the faucet is.

Is the actual visible metal of the faucet and taps bronze? Like, can I scrub off the laquer and patina it?
