Connections hose are too long can they be cut

This particular faucet doesn't have hoses attached. You need to supple hoses of appropriate length yourself. I tend to favor that approach myself, despite the extra trip to the store, as older but serviceable faucets can be donated. Those that do have attached hoses (generally more expensive than this model) may have plastic (gray line) hoses designed to be looped to connect so they are very long. They can be cut and instructions and materials to do so (no tools) are in the package. Follow them! Cutting plastic tubing is easy but requires care and it isn't easily extended if you mess up. Some models have hoses of braided plastic (see through generally but with radial threads) or metal (woven on the outside). Those cannot be cut.

Should the plastic base part be seen or no ?

do you have to tighten the plastic nuts that are under with a special tool or just hand tighten?

I just tightened them by hand but a cheap basin wrench might save a lot of cussing removing the old faucet.

Drips if not cutoff in exactly the right spot
I've had this faucet for about 3 years now. It has worked very well but for most of those 3 years, we have to pull down the handle and move it slightly to the right to complete the water shut off. My wife regularly fail to do this maneuver and sometime dripping occurs for hours until the handle is moved to the exact spot on the right. I'll estimate that I've incurred enough cost on my water bill to have purchased another faucet. As noted in one other review, I bought the Delta faucet because I've gotten very good service with that brand over the years.

This product was easy to install and was a fair price... We assumed since it was a DELTA brand we could count on quality.. NOT SO... After only 4 months of minimal use it developed a clunking sound when turned off... Now it leaks... I wrote to DELTA since they have a lifetime warranty and received NO response... My next step will be to attempt a return to Home Depot. Would not recommend this model to anyone... The faucet we replaced had been on our sink for 17 years with little to no problems...

This kitchen faucet is a little over a year old. The sweet spot to getting the faucet to turn off is getting more and more difficult. My wife noticed right after installation but we've lived with it. We have never had this problem with any Delta faucet. When you pull it forward to turn it off you have to really be careful to get it to the specific area where the cartridge is in the OFF position otherwise it leaks or drips. We'll be having to replace this before it's usable life is up.

Installation of this faucet today went without any problems. It looks good and the price is quite reasonable. A couple of comments. It takes a little getting used to to find the sweet spot in dead center to turn it off. I would have preferred to simply close the lever down from any position as my two Delta bathroom faucets. I find it slightly annoying but I think I will get accustomed to doing that. My wife's first impression that it was not a problem. My second comment. The faucet does not seem stable on the base with approximately 1/8th" of deformation when opening and closing the lever. The movement seems to be coming primarily from the tower assembly and a smaller amount from the base. I tightened the flange nuts as far as I felt reasonable without stripping them but still a small amount of movement. Movement is possibly from the plastic under base that supports the tower assembly. This may not be a problem as none of the other reviewers mentioned it.

I am very pleased with the Delta faucet. It is relatively easy to install – but since one is working underneath a sink, there is some contortion required to remove ANY faucet and to install a new one. My only complaints follow: It would have been nice if the lines were a few inches longer. Because there was too much strain on one of the lines, I had to shorten the line and use one of the supplied RP50952 sleeves for the fitting to the supply line. When making the fitting, I lost one of the sleeves (it dropped into a cavity underneath the sink) – but I was OK as two sleeves came with the faucet. Note that replacement sleeves are VERY pricey to replace as I found out when looking at the Delta website. Nevertheless, the faucet works great and looks good. It comes with a lifetime warranty which I hope will never need to be used.

Easy install, looks good. Just make sure the handle is straight when turning off or it will drip.
