Is this really plastic? My original one is brass or some type of metal.

Can this dispenser be refilled from above the sink?
Yes Very easy to refill from above I use a funnel I do not recommend using soap that has the little beads in it ( the beads clogged mine)

I would be installing this in granite counter top at back of under mount stainless steel double sink. Countertop is 1-1/4" thick. I have 4 questions: 1. Can this be properly mounted in a 1-1/4" counter top? 2. How far back from the granite edge must the CENTER of the installation hole be? 3. What should the diameter of the installation hole be? 4. Will the dispenser arm be long enough to dispense soap into the sink, and also allow me to put pitchers, pans under the arm to dispense soap into those kinds of items?
Hi, sweetpatoootie! Thank you for your question. The Delta R1001 soap dispenser can be mounted in a standard hole sizes 1 1/4" - 1 1/2". The maximum deck thickness shuld be no thicker than 1 1/4" (32 mm) Max. Deck Thickness. The nozzle length is 3 5/32" (80 mm). we do not have a recommended placement on the sink deck, we leave this choice up to the customer on where they'd like to install and how far back or close to the front of the sink the would want this to be. Also replaced kitchen Faucet with a Delta 400-DST purchased from Home Depot.. Soap dispenser added as accessory to sink in matching stainless steel finish.
Classic looks, economical, easy to install

I got this because it matches a much older one, also by Delta. It's nice when companies keep a back design for those of us that need to match an older installation. Anyway, still nice styling - smooth, clean lines, IMHO.
I checked many dispensers, from local companies to big block stores and this is my favorite and very economical, if you compare with other brands.
Plus, the old one, about 15 years old now, still works well - it has begun to corrode a very little on the underside of the spout, but doesn't show, AND the new ones have a tiny plastic tube inside the spout. The only thing I didn't like was that, while filling from the top of the sink, extra liquid soap would slop out (now they give you a little funnel). Solution: I have measured and know exactly how much soap goes in each dispenser (new one holds more) and fill them quickly.
Also, for some reason (chemists?), all liquid soaps become more and more watery as you get down to the bottom of the container. Why?! If you don't use it up, the next batch is also and more watery. Partial solution: make sure the feeder tube (polyethylene?) reaches all the way to the bottom so at each filling, you consume the dregs, even if they are watery. Hah.
I guess occasionally, you've got to crawl up under the sink and remove the bottles for a thorough cleaning, which is a pain, if you've got little space, as in my case...but doable.

Just as I expected and even though it’s a different brand from the one that broke, it fits perfectly. I thought the funnel would be needless but it actually makes re-filling much easier. This package included the spout, the tube, the plastic dispensing bottle, the two ended screw and the nut to hold it all in place as well as a rubber gasket to place between the base of the spout and the sink.
Too stiff.

Love my faucet but find this newer version This soap dispenser is too stiff to press. Had a prior delta soap dispenser that I loved for18 years but this new one is not hand friendly

Pump Falls out every time I use it

Bought this along with the top of the line Trinsic Single-Handle Pull-Down faucet. At the time, it was the only soap dispenser that I could find to matched in color (black stainless). Unfortunately, If you do not push directly on top of the dispenser it pops out. It's awkward, annoying and messy. I may have to try the Trinsic Deck Mount Metal Soap Dispenser as it is now available in Black Stainless, but I an skeptical and hope that this one does not operate the same way. I am also very unhappy that I have to spend more money to replace this badly designed dispenser.

Attractive design but the spout often falls off and needs...

Attractive design but the spout often falls off and needs to be reset on the siphon tube. Extremely annoying and should not work this poorly. The refill funnel is awesome.
