Hi, Leonardo! Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we can only guarantee that our Delta parts, including the RP41702 diverter assembly, work with Delta faucets. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Best Regards, Rosanna

How many o rings does this diverter need and where exactly do they go?

O-ring is already installed on the bottom. Once you remove the old one, just insert this one and tighten it using the slot on the top. A quarter will do as a tool.

I know how to repair the leaks under the handles. Done that a couple of times. BUT, I "know" what...

Hi diylady, Thank you for your question. For most models, the base of the spout (the part that doesn't swivel) will unscrew counter-clockwise. Once unscrewed, pull up on the spout to remove it. Our customer service team can be reached at 1-800-345-3358 or via email at customerservice@deltafaucet.com. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need any further help! Best regards, Jon

No, 99% of the time these break when taking them out. They are plastic. Need needle-nose pliers or heavy-duty tweezers to remove and they will still break.

Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 21996LF-OB does have a replacement diverter assembly with a model number of RP41702. If you need the clip to hold the wand in place, then we recommend ordering the spray and hose assembly with model # RP54807. Thanks. Jody

My faucet is a Peerless P299568LF and this Delta part RP41702 fit it perfectly, depite warnings to the contrary on the Internet. So I am very happy. It is also much stronger and sturdier than the old Diverter Assembly that I had to remove. A plumber told me that the old valve could not be removed and that I should buy an entire new faucet (for $80) and have him come back and install it (for another $90), then he charged me $90 for the bad news. So getting this part delivered to my door for $15 was wonderful!!! To remove the neck collar without scratching the chrome, wrap duct tape around each claw of a pair of channel locks (or pliers) to make a soft surface to grab the collar firmly and to prevent damage to the chrome. To remove the old plastic diverter valve inside, without breaking it, can be tricky. I cut a 1/2" x 1 1/2" piece of 80 grade sand paper and wrapped it around the old assembly rough side IN, like a collar. Then I grabbed the sand paper with a pair of pliers and the whole diverter assembly came right out easily. Both devices are designed to be removed with a coin, like a US quarter, but the factory put the diverter in too tight when they made it. I hand tighten the new diverter with a coin and it worked fine. No leaks, etc. What the plumber did not want to admit to was the HE did not know how to remove the old diverter valve. Now you know: You can fix it yourself for under $20. This product has worked perfectly for two months since installation. My wife and I are both HAPPY to have our kitchen sink working properly again. It is well worth the money if you have a Peerless spray faucet. Good luck. V

With no background in the area, a little internet research allowed me to diagnose a problem with our kitchen sink (low pressure/loss of pressure on switching between faucet and sprayer with a "thunk" or water hammer noise as pressure returned) as a failing diverter valve. I identified the make and model of our faucet and ordered the replacement diverter, after unsuccessfully looking for it in person at several home-improvement and specialty plumbing stores. My husband was able to pick it up at our local store with no delivery charge, and install it easily based on manufacturer's instructions we had already found online (not included). It solved our problems immediately and the sink has worked better than ever.

Cheap plastic
Customer review from peerlessfaucet.com logo
Water flow was slow, so I took supply hoses off, they were fine. Unscrewed the neck and Used coin to loosen diverter...SNAP. It broke. Now everything I try chips off more of it, just like a broken light bulb in a socket. Impossible to get off. Cheap parts. I like the faucet, but may save myself agony and a plumbers bill and replace the whole thing, which is less than two years old. Different brand. No side spray. It would be great if a semi-pricey faucet came with good working parts.

Only worked for about 5 uses
I replaced my Delta diverter after waiting a week for the part. At first it worked perfectly shutting off the faucet when my sprayer was in use. But after about 5 uses the faucet partially runs again when sprayer is being used just like before the repair. I've removed and reinstalled 2 times without it working right. I suspect a faulty diverter since it worked initially. No idea if buying another one at $15 and waiting another two weeks for it to arrive will work. Very frustrated, possibly done with Delta faucets.

My side sprayer in the kitchen sink started to chatter when used. I read on line that this is caused by the diverter valve. I bought this valve to replace it and the problem cleared up immediately. Quick and easy job, ...there's a YouTube video to show you how.
