A: Hi Frank, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! We recommend flushing the PORTWOOD™ Widespread Bathroom Faucet MODEL#: 35770LF-SP. To flush the unit, turn off the water supplies. Then, remove the aerator using the supplied wrench or coin and turn the faucet handles to the full on mixed position. Turn on the hot and cold water supplies and flush water lines for one minute. This flushes away any debris that could cause damage to the internal parts. Check all connections for leaks. Replace the aerator. Re-tighten connections if necessary, but do not overtighten. Portwood Spinning Handle Base

The symptom is the faucet handle in the OFF direction-counter clockwise makes the bottom base portion rotate along with the handle. Then the entire assembly can be easily removed. How to keep the base stationary? Had this Delta less than 3 years. Cheap plastic design.

nice faucet but.......

Love the faucet..bought it about 2 years ago from Home Depot but now the handles turn hard. I cleaned them but to no avail. The cold water handle will no longer latch to the base. Not what I expect from fairly expensive Delta product

Delta is the worst! Stick to Moen!

We bought 6 of these faucets. In a few months the faucet handles started breaking. All of them! We contacted Delta and in return they sent us back plastic clips to hold the handles in place. Our faucets are bronze and the plastic clips they sent were gray. It looked awful. Sure enough in a few weeks the handles started breaking again! Again we contacted Delta and they sent us the same plastic clip. Moen's products are built well and if they do break, they would just sent you a brand new faucet!

Completely Corroded after 18 months

My entire faucet assembly was corroded after just 18 months. Similar to another reviewer, my handle snapped right off of the base.

Lasted only two years

After two years and three months, one of the handles snapped right off. For the brand and the price we paid we expected it to last much longer.

Will only purchase Delta

I’ve had chrome Delta faucets for the last 19 years in my bathrooms, laundry room and kitchen. Never had any problems with any of them. I will only purchase Delta faucets. After 19 years, I wanted to update my bathroom & purchased the Delta Portwood faucet. Very happy with the look.

20 Year Replacements

My 20 year old faucets needed replacing and my plumber recommended either Delta or Kohler. I’m doing my research, they are about the same and Home Depot carried these Delta Portwood in stock; they were exactly what I expected and feel like quality; these are all metal except what is supposed to be heavy duty plastic. All the fittings and pieces were in the bag and my plumber had zero issues installing them. Once on the counter, they look fabulous and fit perfectly. I will say that for me, a complete novice, all the various pieces were confusing, which is why I let my plumber do it professionally (and it’s covered by their warranty). Also, the oil rubbed bronze is a shade lighter than my original, but really makes no difference on the total effect of all the other fixtures in the restroom. Truly great quality and looks; great value as well. You do get what you pay for.

Great looks and smooth operation!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this faucet! Vey smooth and simple design, and the handles turn very easily. The installation is about average compared to other faucets, if you haven't installed one before then plan on a couple hours (if you're experienced then less than an hour). I hadn't seen the locking nuts for the handles before, you tighten down the nut then it also has screws on it to tighten further. The end result is you can get the handles to stay in place really well and not spin while tightening, plus getting these off in the future should be much easier than normal. It did not come with a faucet install tool like many other brands do, but it would only have been used for the center faucet nut and that one wasn't hard to use a wrench for so it wasn't a big deal. This is a reconditioned one but I'll say everything looked brand new. The box was a little beat up but everything inside was in perfect condition plus it still comes with a 10 year warranty so it seems like a great deal to me!
