The DensShield 5 ft. x 32 in. x 1/2 in. Glass Mat Tile Backer features glass mat facings and an acrylic coating that helps block moisture from entering the wall cavity. Works great, and same thickness as drywall
Did my daugters bath surround using this stuff. Easy to cut, mount and waterproof.I added a few coats of Redguard as extra precaution but likely overkill for shower walls. What really is nice is that the material was the same thickness as my drywall making butting the two together perfect. I've used Hardi in the past and it is thinner than my drywall creating issues and more boring drywall/texture work.

I used this after removing old backsplash took the drywall off with it. I have never put up any ...
I used this after removing old backsplash took the drywall off with it. I have never put up any board before. I was able to do it without problems. Follow instructions on how to tape and seal seams with correct product. The new backsplash went up and adhered without any issues.

Great product easy to install, easy to cut no dust, the one caution I would give is this product has fiberglass on front and back so take precautions while using it will make you itch like crazy. You dont have to put any additional waterproofing on it, just tape and thin set the joints and screw holes get after it.
