warm light does not come close to the rated light output, barely a fraction with new batteries.
Again, another SMD LED product that purports to be very bright, but it isn't, it claims on the package that this light can produce "300 Lumens", this is hard to swallow, I have several stick lights that produce 50 Lumens and they're brighter than this, maybe it's 30 Lumens, but not anywhere near 100 or 300 Lumens.
If the package is accurate, 3 hours on 4 AA batteries is not very long, this does have 2 light modes that are not indicated on the package, so unless you have a lot of free time, it might be worth it to determine how long the batteries will last on low, plus since this comes with heavy duty batteries, it's anyone's guess if the rated 3 hours is on high with heavy duty or alkaline batteries.
At the very least, it's large enough that it's a little hard to lose this as it's slightly longer than 1 foot in length if you include the extended hook at the top, on a side note, if you must have this, buy it at Home depot as other places want upwards of $30 -$50 and this appears to be well built, but the light output leaves a lot to be desired, if you want a more robust SMD light, Snap-on tools makes a 200 Lumen 3 AAA light that claims to last 6 hours, it has a 100 lumen mode (low) that is brighter than the high mode on this model.
I also noticed that the color temperature of this light is warmer than the light from the Snap-on model, that usually doesn't work in favor of a colder light temperature, but the snap-on has 24 SMD's, this has 10, but uses larger AA batteries and more of them (4) and in theory, it should last longer on battery life but it doesn't..
The snap-on model number is 871276 in case you're interested and it costs around $20 on Amazon.
