            A:  I bought one with a hole to use with a heavy planter that I have on a concrete patio - the water from the pot's drainage hole can drip through the hole, rather than collecting in the dolly tray and having to be dumped. I also have one without a hole that I am using indoors, where I do not want water dripping through a hole and onto the floor.

              A:  Drainage. If you add to much water to your potted plants, the water runs out the bottom of the pot and would site on the dolly. The hole allows the excess water to move away from the pot and dolly.

              A:  I would assume it is for people who do not want to have to lift a heavy pot up and out of a saucer (which would be placed on top of the caddy) in order to drain the leftover water. Instead, the hole allows you to place a saucer underneath the caddy to be emptied after the water is done draining. In this way, the plant does not need to be lifted. Great Idea!

                  Heavy duty plant dolly
                  I bought this to put under some planters that I needed to be able to move with the sun and also to be able to roll into my garage during the winter. I wish the wheels had brakes but I can use a couple of bricks. They are heavy duty and good under the planters.

                  Finally a plant caddy that doesn't suck. The wheels are sturdy and allow to move my huge plants freely. Purchased 1.2" diameter clear hose and I'm no longer worried about my deck being exposed to too much moisture. Use zipties to connect the hose to the extension for extra safety. Bought five and fairly happy with the purchase. Hope they last!
