Dimplex Revillusion 25"
I was told by Chimney experts that I needed to spend "thousands" to restore my chimney so my brother mentioned that he had purchased an electric fireplace that he loved and all his guests though was Real. I decided to take him at his word and I can tell you that my wife and I were not disappointed! For literally less than 1/10 the price of repairing the chimney, we have something that we truly will enjoy for many years to come!

Realistic Fireplace
We have a raised fireplace and the Dimplex looks very realistic. We have had it for about a month and like it more every day. The heating element is enough to heat our living room. The only drawback (and its minor) is the remote. You must stay very close to the unit but other than that, we are more than satisfied with the set and wish we bought it years ago.

Love it!
I wasn't sure about going from gas logs in a vent-less fireplace to electric, but I sure am glad I did. This product looks real, is easy to install (basically put the shield on and plug it in) and it's fun to have fire going every night without the smell or heat. I hired an electrician to put an outlet behind it so you can't even see the cords. It never mentions where the cord is, but I'd say it's 6 feel long on comes out the right side of the box. I would highly recommend this product.

Looks great, but . . .
Purchased two of these log sets on 12/4/2020. They really look nice, but both have started making noise when the flames are on - it sounds as if the mechanism needs to be lubricated, but I can find no way to do that. Not acceptable for a product with premium pricing. Hoping that the retailer stands behind their sales.

Nice ambiance
I bought this in October and have used it nightly for the past five months. It definitely puts out some heat and looks nice in my fireplace. I discovered that my firebox sits several inches below the hearth, so I had to place the log set up on heatproof supports. That helped to let the heat flow into the room. My carpet is white and that caused a reflection on the flame screen, so I placed a dark black woven rug on the hearth which helped to improve the appearance of the flames. I also had to have an electrical outlet installed closer to the fireplace. I recommend that the length of the cord be listed in the description of the log set (you cannot use an extension cord for this product). Overall I am enjoying the product, and I'm especially glad to no longer have the expense and mess of burning wood (which often isn't allowed on the coldest nights in my area anyway). Since it's electric, it would be nice to have some crackling sound effects added.
