Easy to use and control Dremel Glue Pen
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Dremel Home Solution Glue Pen last month through the Dremel review program. Before trying it, I charged the rechargeable Glue Pen fully and it is quick. Tried to glue two AA battery together with the glue pen and it works perfectly and easily. Just a very short adaptation to learn how to control the flow of glue. From the video, you can see it is easy to control the amount of glue coming out from the glue one. Also, there is only minimal glue left on the glue pen tip.
This Dremel Glue Pen exceeds my expectation of a regular glue gun/pen in terms of usability and controllability.

Dremel glue pen
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you use a glue gun, you know how they can be both handy and a pain to use. First you have to deal with a cord, then you have to wait for it to heat up, and finally...they can be a bit messy. Enter the Dremel glue pen. It heats up fast! 15 seconds! Guess what, it's cordless too! You can basically write with it( after some practice) so messes are few and far between. The kit comes with 4 glue sticks, so consider those your practice ammo. I love how it warns you that it needs a charge with the flashing red light, and charge time is reasonable. My only gripe is the glue stick size which I wish would be the larger sticks as they go very fast. If you are in the market for a glue gun, I definitely recommend this....even if you already have a glue gun, you will find this glue pen would be excellent to have on hand. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

Very handy glue gun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dremel cordless hotglue pen pen is a very handy item to have in your home. The pen features a very quick heat up time of 15 or so seconds and a nice small precise glue tip to help you get the glue exactly where you want it. It use standard hot gluesticks that you could find just about anywhere. The pen fits very comfortably in your hands not to big and not to small. The trigger is place in a natural spot so its is to use and control the actions of the glue. It gad a nice run time so you definitely will be able to finish the task at hand no problem before needing to put it back on to recharge it. I definitely would highly recommend it to have at home and keep it handy for quick repairs and fixes.

Works Great! Heats up in a very short time.
I love this glue gun. It is cordless and there is no cord to get in my way when I use it. The glue stick goes in the back of the glue gun and heats it up very quickly. The heated glue comes out in the perfect thickness. Charging it is easy. There is a USB port that the cable plugs into. in the back. It charges fast and holds a charge very well. I highly recommend the Dremel glue gun.

As a Crafter, to essential items are glue tool and Dremel products and when you put the 2 together you get the new glue pen by Dremel. This is a fabulous tool the best part is its cordless! Heavy a cordless glue duck gun opens a lot of opportunities working on larger projects that may not be in your immediate work area. Once I got the hang of the pressure on the feed trigger , I was in good shape. Dremel provides some glue sticks but they go fast. Be sure you get more AND they are the size indicated by the company (7mm) only!!

The unit is easily charged by the mini USB connection (included) on the end which is also where you insert the glue sticks. The light comes on when in use or when charging

Wow, what an improvement on the old school glue gun! This Home Solutions “Glue Pen” by Dremel is cordless and easy to use. The directions are clear and give you an idea of what to expect. The glue pen heats up super fast in less than 15 seconds. It’s is comfortable to hold, lightweight, and easy to squeeze the trigger when applying the hot glue. The nozzle tip is narrower which gives more control in where the glue goes and how much.
My fav feature is no cord! Just charge it for 2 hours and it’s good for hours and hours of crafting, repairs, and DIY work. An LED indicator light lets you know when the battery is low and when the pen is on. A safety feature is that it turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity. The box includes the glue pen, directions, charger & its cord, and 4 glue sticks. I love it when someone invents something smart and useful.

After 12 years or so of using my old faithful glue gun I had to give in and start looking at getting a new one. I came across one made by Dremel and figured I have always had good experiences with their products. So I chose the Dremel 3.6 volt Home Solutions glue pen. It came with the glue pen, charging cable, charging block and 4 glue sticks. Basically everything you need to get started on you first project! The directions did specify to fully charge the pen before using it the first time. It has a light to indicate that it is charging and when charging is complete. I was worried about the glue stick being a smaller diameter than what I am used to using however it was not an issue. Since the glue stick fits completely in the pen I do not need to worry about removing it for storage. There is no way to know how much I have left but I am sure the more I use it the better I will be able to gauge it. The pen itself is very lightweight and easy to hold and work with. The trigger is comfortably located and doesn’t require a lot of pressure. Also this being cordless definitely increases the versatility as I no longer have to worry about a place to plug in. This also comes into play when setting it down as my old one would fall over if the cord wasn’t just right. It heats up very quickly and has a light to indicate when it is ready for use. When I put it down to heat up and again between applications I did not notice a lot of leakage which is a huge improvement over what I am used to. Also it stays cool enough that I do not worry about where I set it down and the tip which is the hot part is not where it can touch any surface when I set it down. I can see with the small size and versatility of it I will be using it a lot more! Overall this product is very easy to use and a welcome addition to my collection. Thanks Dremel for another amazing product!

LIGHTWEIGHT: FAST WARMUP; HARD TO CONTROL FLOW — The Dremel 3.6-Volt Home Solutions Glue Pen has the advantage over many glue guns in that it heats up in only 15 seconds. The battery took more than three hours to charge for the first time but since that is done infrequently, that may be not a problem. The glue sets up fast which in some cases is an advantage. I was able to repair my work shoes where the leather seams had come apart. Although my shoe repair is quite functional, it looks as if it was done by a second-grader, but that would be an insult to second-graders. See photo. That outcome is because I have not yet mastered how to control the glue flow; I am still getting too much glue. For me, the trigger mechanism is not as easy to control the flow as those on glue guns, perhaps because I have small hands. The glue pen uses 7mm glue sticks. For safety reasons, the glue pen turns off after 10 minutes of non-use. With more practice, it should become an even more useful tool. It is made in Romania while the USB cord and power adapter are made in China, and the glue sticks are made in the UK. It has a 2-year warranty when packaged and returned prepaid with the original receipt.

I have seen other cordless hot glue guns but they run on large tool batteries that I don’t already own. When I saw this Dremel model with a built in battery I knew I had to try it out. While I do not use hot glue all that often I find that when I do want to use it I have to drag out a long extension cord and wait for the gun to heat up. Usually several minutes. This all takes time so I end up putting the project off. That has all changed now!!!
The Dremel hot glue pen arrived with everything needed to get started in one package. I followed the instructions and used the supplied USB adapter wall plug and micro usb cord and plugged the Dremel in for its initial charge. The light on the pen went to solid green after about 2 hours indicating the battery was fully charged and ready for use. I unplugged the charger and turned the pen on. The light flashes as it warms up and turns to solid green when warm. Dremel says heat up takes 15 seconds but it felt even shorter to me. I inserted one of the supplied glue sticks (you have to push it with a bit of force once it bottoms out in order for the glue to engage the feeding mechanism) and was gluing up some cardboard. The glue flowed out nicely and was easy to control. Best of all there was no power cord to tether me or get tangled up. When I was done I simply pushed the power button to turn the pen off. There was very minimal leakage of glue when I was not squeezing the trigger and during cool down. This made for less mess to have to clean up. The instructions say it will run approximately a half hour on one charge. I’ve never needed a glue gun for that long of a project so I doubt I’d ever need to have to recharge during a project. I’m very happy with my choice and will procrastinate much less when needing to use hot glue since this is much easier and faster to use then a corded model.
