Product Overview

The Dremel Ultra-Saw Tool Kit does everything the Dremel Saw-Max can do, and more. With a 7.5 Amp motor and durable drive train, the Ultra-Saw delivers more power for making long cuts. A metal foot and guard resist the heat generated by heavy-duty jobs like grinding and cutting metal. Large, 3.5 in. and 4 in. cutting wheels provide fast cutting speeds and improved performance in a wide variety of materials. Plus, with exclusive accessories, the Ultra-Saw can also perform surface preparation tasks like removing paint, rust and thin-set mortar.
  • 7.5 Amp motor delivers high performance in tough applications
  • Fast cut speed to rip through plywood and cut more metal
  • Added durability and improved drivetrain to last three times longer than the Saw-Max
  • Metal foot and guard to resist heat produced when cutting hard materials
  • 3-in-1 tool - go beyond cutting and flush cutting with surface preparation applications including rust, paint, and thinset removal
  • Excellent line of sight for precise, confident cuts

Yes it could, but you'd need to buy extra metal cutting blades, and cut slow.

Loved how smoothly this little saw worked through wood and pvc. It made the project look very smooth. I made my sewing station with this saw alone. This isn’t an artisan’s work but for someone like me that just wanted a sewing station that was sturdy, this saw got it done. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Tough, well built tool!
I bought this a couple of months ago, initially in connection with some deferred maintenance on my log home - debarking, trimming back knots and so forth. It performed very well, particularly with the flush wood cutting blade. More recently, I used it in an unrelated project in which I really pushed its limits - and it again performed superbly. I have a low end Craftsman table saw with narrow miter gauge fence channels cast into the aluminum table. I bought an Incra miter fence and noticed that the table channels were nonstandard and too narrow for the Incra fence. The remedy was to enlarge the channels. I set up my ripping fence and, registering off that, cut the channel with this saw using the metal cutting blade. I found that a little WD40 on the cut kept things from getting too hot. Here are two pics - one showing the saw in use and the other showing the result. Fantastic!

I've bought this product on 4/29/19. I used it two or three times. Now, it won't restart. I called the Dremel customer service. I was told to send it it to Wisconsin. What a piece of junk! I wish I've bought the Roto razor as advertised on TV ( but I did not want to wait!)

I have several Dremel products and bought this to replace an Dual Saw that will easily cut heavy metal. I needed to cut heavy roofing panels that I was using to make above ground planters. The Dual Saw malfunctioned and won't turn off without pulling the plug and the manufacturer is apparently out of business. I did not expect the Dremel Ultra-Saw to do the job as effortlessly, but was amazed that I prefer it for this purpose. The plunge cut ability was critical. I was using V-crimp panels and needed to cut the v's to allow me to easily bend the panels. This cut quickly and is easier to use. I didn't use the vacuum port for this job, but will use for other tasks and already have the port connector adapter. I also already have the optional tool guide. I'm not a professional or even a very experienced trades person, just a 70 year old grandma.

WOW! Well balanced. Easy to use. Light weight. Extremelyy powerful. I have a lot of tools but was working on a ceiling 20' high. Needed to cut out T&G cedar after installing a new fireplace chimney. Sight line of saw was easy to see. Cuts were right on the mark due to the weight/balance of this saw while cutting in an awkward area. Awesome Tool!

First, this saw is handy. I have a great deal of power tools and really didn't think I needed this type of tool until a very unique situation presented itself and my other saws (circular, jig, reciprocating, & oscillating) were not appropriate. I've used the flush cut and wood blades, and both have performed well. I've used the saw to cut 1/2" OSB as well as 3/4" hardwood flooring. I did not buy this saw for the hardwood flooring, but it did speed up my one-man install job compared to my miter saw. My only complaint at this time is the heat this generates after extensive use. I cut 22' of 1/2" OSB and had to let the saw cool down. The handle area got so hot that I had to give it a break, as shown in the picture. I'm not really sure if the heat will cause damage to the saw, so I opted to let it cool down while I checked out the manual. The handle itself reached a temperature of at least 135 degrees (seen in the photo), and was only in use for 10-15 minutes max. I do believe this is enough to knock off 2 stars because if this wasn't an issue then I'd be looking at a 2 hour job. However, with the heating issue and the need to let it cool down, I'd say the job is now more likely a half day or more job.

My husband is disabled and doesn't get to do many projects around the house. I got him this because of its weight, size and variety of uses. He was able to replace a few deck boards and all of the stairs. Best part is, it made him feel great to do a project. Now he is thinking of a few more things he can do! Thanks Dremel!

I bought this saw because of a recommendation of a friend. I was pretty sure that I was not going to like it, but would keep it in my tool collection " Just In Case." I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was nice and compact, and heavier than expected, in a good way, as it is very solid and sturdy. I have ended up using this to make some pretty interesting compound cuts for my laminate wood floor. I especially like the flush cut feature of this tool for trimming out the existing floor trim in my home so that I did not have to remove it. Dremel has made an outstanding tool that will more than likely last for many years to come.

Paid for itself already !!........
I used this for refurbishing our hardwood floors. it was able to cut the material cleanly without the kickback from bigger saws. it is small enough to get into tight areas with accuracy.

Good tool for scoring concrete

I purchased a diamond tile blade and used this to score a 1/8" deep 2' x 2' tile pattern into a concrete slab. The tool is very easy to use. The one problem I had with it was the bone-headed placement of the on-off switch. If you lock the tool in the on position, it is hard to hold the tool without unlocking it / shutting it off. It is natural to wrap your fingers underneath, but that's where the switch is. Other than that, once I got accustomed to holding only the top of the tool, it performed wonderfully well scoring the design. I did not have to use water and the tool did not overheat - plenty of power. I cut about 200' (linear) of scoring over a several hour period of measuring, moving the board, and cutting up against it.
