Yes, it comes in a silver tin with a velvet like inside holding the torch and pieces. It also comes with the black plastic cap as shown in the main picture.

What is the Temperature Range for this Torch ? What is the Wattage?

Are you asking: How much electricity a GAS POWERED device will use. Answer: NONE. This item runs off of butane (which you can purchase at home depot). There is no cords, outlets or wires needed.

Do these purchase locations supply gas container replacements?

Or do I not understand how it works yet? I haven't purchased one yet, but am considering purchasing one and would want to know how to replace the little gas can.
Asked by: Marcia
This device has a container in the handle that you fill up via a little pinhole thing. You buy the fuel from Home Depot and follow the instructions to fill it. Imagine, if you will: A bicycle tire. You attach hose of the pump to the valve of the innertube. and then you push the air into the tire by pumping. Same theory applies here: You put the nozzel of the fuel can agains the valve of the torch. The duel then transfers from the fuel can into the torch.

Customer Reviews

VersaTip Gas Torch Solders, Heats, Melts, and Cuts a Wide Variety of Materials is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was an awsome tool until it can't be fixed. Had the versatip for about a year very handy to have around the shop. One day when i lit it no blue flame but a hugh orange flame ball that engulfs the entire tip. Been looking for a troubleshooter, replacement parts but can't find anything. Is it just a disposable tool? Really didn't expect that from Dremel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from outstanding i used the soldering torch this past week on a head light plug. we soldered a total of five wires, the torch worked outstanding. we was very pleased using this product it works very fast and very good connection with all the wires. my son and i used the torch later in the day on a water valve metal hose fitting that was rusted on. we tried for over a week spraying rust buster, still could not get the rusted fitting off. so we removed the soldering tip and used the torch to heat the metal hose fitting the hose fitting came right off. our next project will be to try and solder a new outside copper water line. the butane torch from dremel is outstanding we was very impressed. we give this product a five star rating. you cant go wrong adding the butane torch from the dremel company. i have been using dremel tools for 15 years and never been let down. have a good work day. tom [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Probably more capable than I can make it Was excited to try this out for a couple of reasons - it's another way to solder stuff together and more excitingly - it does more than just solder. So far though, all I've done is solder with it and found out a couple of things: - it's a bit finicky to get started. This could be impatience on my part, but after loading it with gas I couldn't get it to light, left it for about 3 min and it started on the second or third flick - Until you light it the first time, you've got no idea what to look for to ensure that it's actually lit - I haven't figured out how to solder well with it. This is probably a combination of not quite figuring out the right tuning for it and me having limited solder experience It does burn hot though! Which is very cool, did a little bit of wood burning just to see how it would react and this thing will light it up! (in a good way). Next goal is to see if it handles foam as well as wood to try my hand at some cosplay carving [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool but needs more tips My wife bought me the Dremel Maker Kit 2290 and it is a great kit. As a disabled combat veteran it gives me something to do with my hands that I find rather enjoyable, that is until I try to find more accessories/tips for the dremel 2000 butane soldering torch/wood burning torch... I find that there are only 3 tips and that is very disappointing because it means I will end up buying a different manufacturers wood burnger/butane torch because they offer 15-100 varying tips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fantastic I bought this tool is great and works really well, the only detail is that the soldering tip after long use should be replaced. i love it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Buy it for soldering, but not for pyrography This tool has great potential but you can't get pyrography tips from Dremel in the US; the tips are only sold in Europe. Not sure what the product team was thinking, but I am so disappointed. I even tried the tips from a competitive product and, of course, it doesn't fit. If you aren't going to sell YOUR tips in the US, then at least let us use competitors tips so the tool is useful. You took a 5-star review and turned it into a 2 star review because I can't use this product for its intended (and advertised) purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little multi-use tool So far I have used this tool to solder a couple of connections on a little solar project I have going. The gauge of the wire and thickness of the connector wouldn't heat up enough to draw the solder, so I removed the tip and used it as a torch. Worked like a charm. The heat is still concentrated enough that the wire insulation didn't melt, but the solder drew into the connector great. It comes with enough tips to tackle most jobs that require melting or hot cutting. One promising tip is one to melt the cut end of rope or webbing. I usually use a lighter and then burn the snot out of my fingers as I press the melted end together; I think I'll skip that and use this in the future. Construction feels solid, and it took a full tank of butane no problem (shipped dry for obvious reasons). It has a push-button ignition that is also the gas trigger. It was somewhat awkward to ignite then keep on, but after a few tries it makes sense. It comes in an odd presentation kind of metal box with velveteen insert, but it is tidy and there's no mistaking it.
