A Hot Little Number!
Customer review from dremel.com logo
Dremel hit it out of the park with this little gem. Upon opening the package I was surprised to see such an elegant carrying case included in the packaging. Everything you need to burn, solder, cut, and melt is contained all in one handy little package. The VersaTip comes with 6 different attachment tips or can be used as a small yet powerful little torch. Dremel also provides solder in the kit which worked just fine for soldering some small broken electrical connections on my kids toys, but I wouldn't recommend it for larger applications. The torch made cutting through rope a breeze, and left the ends nice and melted to avoid fraying. I was also able to use the torch and shaping tip to do some highlighting and shading on some pyrography projects I've been working on. While using the Versatip, it took a little while for me to get used to the ignition trigger and lock. However, after a "burning" through a few small projects, it became second nature and I can't really say it is a negative. It will definitely work to keep the kids from starting it up. It's really not a con, but the only thing that I could think would be an improvement, is if it came with it's own supply of butane. Throughout testing the VersaTip, I really struggled to find anything negative to comment on. Overall, this little torch will be a great addition to my workshop I'm looking forward to using it for other applications. I really like the speed at which you can heat it up. Within seconds, the VersaTip gets hot enough to do whatever you need it to. However, I wasn't able to run it long enough to see how long the tank would last after a full fill, but from what it seemed, a fill will get your through dozens of small jobs. Another Dremel tool I won't be able to live without! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A must-have!!!!
Customer review from dremel.com logo
I got the Dremel VERSATIP around the second week of December and it has been a blessing. Not only has it helped with everyday repairs and hobbies but it saved one of my grandsons Christmas presents. He had received a RC car from a family member and apparently he ran in a little to hard into a chair which made the antenna srop working. After taking it apart it was obvious the solder had broken free. Within 1 minute and the soldering tip his car was back up and running and smacking everything in sight with no problems... The Dremel Versatip is a must have for anyone. My oldest son even used it to put a design on his handmade walking stick.. There are so many uses for the Versatip that I would highly recommend this tool to all my friends and family along with any hobbiest from handmade crafts to maintenance mechanics that deal with hard to reach places. Works Great and many Accessories
Customer review from dremel.com logo
My Dremel Versa Tip 2000-01 Troch is very simple to use and works great. The safety lock is very effective but still easy to use. The torch heats up very fast and the flame controller slide works smoothly and provides a wide range of heat temperatures. It came in a sturdy case and there are many useful tips included. The attached picture shows me testing the torch on an open area of a television circuit board. I went on to repair the board and the television is now good as new. Love the torch. Handy Tool
Customer review from dremel.com logo
I have only used the torch a couple times so far, but it works well. Heats up in about 30-60 seconds, and is ready to go. I did some light wood burning, and the only issue I had was not being cautious about where the exhaust port was pointing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This think works and works well. I received this to try and evaluate.. To try it out I used it for soldering a spliced connection, cutting nylon rope, and a little wood burning. It performed these tasks flawlessly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Nice butane fueled tool, with a few tips to allow for different applications. Nice case easy to store, handles nicely too. I'm primarily using this as a replacement for my electric soldering iron. I ruined my iron cutting through some woven plastic material, ruining the built in tip. So I really like the concept of the replaceable tips, especially since one is perfect for burning plastics, and another for soldering, my two main applications. I'm going to use it for a wood burned sign I've got planned too. Really nice to not have to worry about ruining a tip experimenting with it!

(What's this)
This torch is a refillable butane torch, it works well WHEN you finally get it to light. The positive lock or child proof lock on the igniter is a really pain to operate and it takes lots of try's to get the torch to light when it is cold, once it is warm it seems to light pretty well. The only way I have been able to get it to light is to push down the igniter turn on the flame lock on and keep flipping the ignitor. It has a lever to lock the flame on so you do not have the hold the lever and a lever to adjust the intensity of the heat. It has 6 tips Soldering tip, Cutting knife, Shaping knife, Hot air tip, Wide blower tip, and Deflector tip. It also has wrenches for the tips, a cap for the torch so you can but the torch in the case without melting the case, but the cover is plastic so you have to be careful not to melt it. There is also a sponge in a tin for cleaning your soldering tip, and a little parts tin. The case is ok but it is kind of flimsy and thin and does not have hinges, latch nor handle, the lid just pushes on the top. When I got mine I could not get it to light at all, I finally took out the diffuser and re-rolled it and now at least it will work. The heat output is good, the ergonomics other than the lighter are nice. If the darn thing would light on the first or second try I would give it 5 stars

COOL LITTLE HOT TOOL

(What's this)
This HOT little tool is way cool. Comes in a tin box but it has no hinges & not sure I like that. Also it does not come LOADED, that is it has no Butane so you have to buy refill can to start. Probably shipping regulations. They state 14 pc set but those 14 pcs include the 2 wrenches and little tins for holding wet sponges. I really like the safety lever. You need to roll it up with your thumb then pull back to ignite. See photos. Never gonna happen by accident. You can lock the trigger on and hold the torch any way you need for comfort and to prevent fatigue. It is light enough to hold like a pencil. You can even control the temperature with a simple slide button. All these controls are conveniently located for a right handed person. The on lock and heat control are a bit awkward for a left handed person. Sorry! Included are a fair assortment of tips and if you need a direct torch just leave tips off. Works well enough to sweat copper pipes. The soldering tip heated up quickly, faster than my electric tips. Take care when cleaning any of the attachments. You do not want to ruin the original finish. Do not use sandpaper or a file or grinder. Wipe them clean the best you can with dry or slightly damp cloth while hot. Please, please let the tool cool completely before you put it away. I keep mine in original box also. Just in case I might drop box the tips wont pop off and parts scatter. It is worth it to me to use the box rather than have to craw on floor to pick up loose parts. Mine was shipped to my home well protected and in pristine condition.
