Q:I’m looking for a white double rose similar to my Knock out roses size. I have them each in a large wheel barrow pot. Will this rose get as large and full as them?
by|Feb 22, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  While the White Drift Rose is a beautiful option for your large wheelbarrow pot, it typically stays more compact compared to Knock Out roses. While Knock Out roses can reach heights of 3-4 feet and spread about 3-4 feet wide, White Drift Roses generally stay smaller, reaching heights of 1-2 feet and spreading 2-3 feet wide. However, with proper care and regular pruning to encourage bushiness, you can still achieve a lush and full appearance with the White Drift Rose in your container, but it still will not mature to the same size as knock out roses.

Q:How far back do I need to cut my drift roses in early Spring? And my Knockout Roses? How about them?
    by|Oct 1, 2022
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  In early spring, it's generally a good practice to prune both Drift Roses and Knockout Roses to encourage new growth and maintain their shape. For Drift Roses, you should aim to cut them back by about one-third to one-half of their existing height. This will help remove any dead or diseased growth and promote vigorous new growth. For Knockout Roses, a similar approach is suitable. You can prune them back by about one-third to one-half of their height as well, cutting just above an outward-facing bud or a set of five leaflets. This method helps shape the plant and encourages new canes to grow. Remember to also remove any dead or crossing branches for both types of roses. Proper pruning in early spring will lead to healthier, more robust, and beautifully blooming rose bushes later in the season.

          Beautiful
All of my plant orders from Home Depot have been really great and this was no exception. They arrived yesterday in perfect condition, pristine, and even blooming in the box. I will definitely continue ordering from Home Depot.

              Vibrant and Healthy
The roses came in full bloom and were just beautiful for that cycle. They are regrouping now, and I don't see any bloom clusters right now, but I'm sure they are just investing in root and leaf growth right now.

              Roses arrived with fungus
I love coral drift roses and have 12 bushes already. They grow beautifully in Chicago area. I ordered 4 more bushes to replace some of the old plants, but they arrive with fungus. I had to return them right away as I was afraid that my other bushes would get fungus as well. Home Deport refunded my money right away. I was afraid to order another batch as they would come from the same grower.
