can this pipe be used with a oil furrnace?

You can go up and out OR straight out the back. Ours goes straight out the back, through the wall, and then we have an elbow and four sections of pipe that go straight up the outside wall and then topped with the vent cap. You use the clamps to attach the pipe to the outside wall. If you have more than three section of outside pipe, you will want two clamps for stability. You CAN go straight out and just stop, but the extra sections going straight up help the furnace burn better and it also helps to keep the glass window (if you have one) clean, as the height of the pipe is giving you a better draw. You can put your cold intake pipe through the wall, too, also straight out the back. (You don't want to have your intake and exhaust right next to each other! The exhaust high and the intake low works great with zero intake of exhaust fumes. If you HAVE to stop your exhaust just outside of the wall due to a window or other issue, be sure to read up on exactly where to situate your intake for safety from carbon monoxide). You MAY have to fashion your own rigid pipe for this (that's what we did), as we couldn't find the proper size of small pipe anywhere in rigid form. They DO sell the bendy pipe but we wanted something sturdier. Some people get their air intake from inside the home, but this method recirculates the same air, so if you have a carbon monoxide leak, you'll just concentrate it. The colder, outside air actually makes the furnace burn more efficiently so you get more heat out of your fuel. Also, you may want to consider spray painting your outside pipe with heat resistant rust-proofing paint to help it last longer. Good luck and enjoy your pellet stove!
