No, it can't support 33 lb propane tank.
1 gallon of LP has about 83,000 BTU’s of heating value. So if the heater is rated at 42kbtu’s, I would assume that’s on high stage, and if you have a 5 gallon tank you should get about 10 hours out of it on high. On medium maybe double that, if medium is half of the high setting.
