The knob will let me turn the heater on but it wont stay on when i release the knob. What is wrong? I just purchased last year.

Mine is doing the same. Worked great last year, never a problem holding in till warmed up. Now that doesn't work. As soon as you release the prime so the knob comes out, gas shuts off. My guess from seeing other input is a thermocoupler problem. So now I will learn what that is and how to replace it.

I would imagine you could. We use ours to heat our garage which is where everyone gathers. We also use it in door at deer camp.

In an open area, outside how close do you have to be to deal the heat? Could you easily fit 8-10 people in a circle?

could i use this under my mobile home?

No one will recommend this due to safety concerns but.... I lived in a mobile home for a few years and dealt with this every winter. Even when insulated well, the vinyl under penning was just not good enough on a -0 evening. I used a kerosene torpedo heater and stood by with a fire extinguisher. It sounds hillbilly, but only takes about 10 minutes max to get the pipes thawed. IF you are diligent with watching the heater and point it on a slightly downward angle it does fine.. Take it for what it's worth

clean quiet heat
needs no electricity at all, the pressure of the propane triggers the igniter, so much quieter than my old forced air propane torpedo heater and just as effective. Heated my 20x20 space in 15 minutes, increased the temp by 40 degrees in 15 minutes

I am writing this review after the first use of the product. First impressions was it was easy to assemble. Had the unit running within 10 minutes while reading the directions. The product puts out great heat. I have it hooked up to a 20lb tank currently. The heater had my garage go from 40 degrees to nearly 60 degrees in 20 minutes. Mind you my garage is approximately 25x25 no insulation. First impressions, I recommend this product.

This heater was easy to put to geather. The heat coming off this is amazing. It dose use a good amount of LP. Recomend to put a fan near the heater to move the air around. It dose scar you when you first turn it on. After it lights ensure that you hold the nob for another 2 seconds. Only complaint that it dose not have a rubber base so it slides around very easily. You will need to hold the base while turning it on.

Boy does this tool work. If you need to take the chill out of a cold garage or workspace, or want to sit on the patio when it's chilly, this gadget is for you. Instructions aren't the best, but I managed to get it put together.

Heats up my 1200 sq ft garage in 15 minutes at 30F
....30F ambient. The screws provided did not fit the predrilled holes, so I used some drill tip sheet metal screws to position the top. Be advised, this is an inexpensive, lightweight product and as several mentioned, lighting and turning off the heater can be tricky as it wants to scoot on concrete when you push on the piezo lighter knob. I attached my heater to a propane boiler stand with plastic tie straps on the base(not near heat) to secure it and make it taller. This solved the problem of it moving and it is easier to light since the controls are on the base.

This is a great heater for quickly warming up a garage or open room. There is no thermostat which not perfectly clear on the box. It is either on or off. The PRESS and turn to start button require you to have to hold it still or sit it on some nonslip surface like a rubber heavy matt. There’s no ramp up or slow start it just boom, its on. Which once you are used to it does not matter.

Great Propane Heater! Powerful, Portable and Safe & Easy to use
I've purchased quite a few electric heaters over the years to warm our 20x20 garage in the winter. I was always disappointed in the output and all of them seemed to quit working prematurely. I needed a heater that was 1. Powerful - that would quickly heat my space 2. Portable - to use in emergencies or while outdoors 3. Mechanical - simple moving parts that won't break 4. Efficient - use a relatively cheap fuel source. 5. Safe & Easy. The Dyna-Glow 80,000 BTU Portable Convection Tower Propane Heater RMC-LPC80DG exceeded my expectations and can heat up my garage in a matter of minutes allowing me to either shut it off of turn it all the way down and conserve fuel. I would caution that when turning the starter and igniting the pilot the for the first time it may startle you, but no need to worry as the flames stay tucked inside the canister. Also, be sure and hold the starter knob down while igniting the pilot for a 1-2 seconds even after it lights to ensure it is fully lit. I've done a lot of research and believe that for the price this heater is an exceptional value compared to the plug and heat models.
