What is Code E1?

Asked by: Gentry
Read the label on the machine or the manual it has all the error codes. E1 is either fuel pressure, dirty filters, photo sensor or a dirty spark plug.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didnt run out of box Assembled as instructions specified. Tried to turn it on after filling completely full of fuel and nothing. After removing the top cover we realized the fan was bent and hitting the top cover. It would fire up when the cover wasnt in place. Had to drain 10 gallons of kerosene. Returned for another unit that appears to be working. I think the quality on these units is very low.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Watch rubber Fuel lines I have had the KFA135H heater for exactly 2 years. It only has about 10 hours or less use over the past 2 years. Recently It would not stay lit. I took the cover off & found that the Fuel & pressure 1/4” rubber hoses were split at all four ends. After replacing the hoses the heater works perfectly. I still gave the heater a 4 star review because I really like it. It probably had very low quality fuel lines.

Put 5 gallons of #2 Diesel in it and turned it on. Wouldn't fire up the E1 code, truned the switch off and gave it a sec switched it back on...tried to ignite but wouldn't. Did this again and finally fired up, works excellent if running. But after about 20 minutes it coded again, although switched it off then back on and it ran for about 1.5 hrs without trouble. Used it the next day fired right up worked again for couple hrs....thought okay seems to be fine now. Next day same deal was very hard to get it going when finally did get it going flamed out twice. At that point I said enough this should not be the case right out of the box. Took it back to HD and returned it, will buy another model. My advice would be if you buy this don't fill it much, make sure it works so in case you have to drain it,not fun to drain. Far as its ability to heat have no complaint, have 2400 sq ft shop and it warmed it easily to Tee shirt conditions. To bad not a reliable unit. Read all the low rating reviews and seems all very similar E1 code.

I did see a number of reviews stating the E1 code and the heater never starting again after only a few hours of use, but every product review always has your share of bad experiences. Well, I got one of those. I filled it with 5-gals of Kerosene to see how it ran/smelled and then after the initial 5-gals, I was going to switch to Diesel to compare since Diesel is so much cheaper. Heater fired right up on Kerosene, ran great for an hour and then I shut it off, next day ran it for about another hour and no issues, next day ran for about an hour and noticed the cone didn't seem as bright red as before and I stated to smell Kerosene, next day was really bad, hardly any red on the cone and really started to smell. Looked at the fuel gauge and noticed it was just about on "E" so I figured this was the issue. I filled it back up with 5-gals of Diesel this time and she never fired again. Diesel spit out the front of it as it was trying to start. Had to drain the fuel, disassemble and put back in original packaging, Home Depot did take it back with no issues. Do not buy!
