Product Overview

DynaTrap uses 3-way protection to attract and trap flying insects. It starts with a UV bulb that creates a warm light to attract many pest insects.

UV Bulb

DynaTrap technology utilizes multi-layer protection to defend your property against insect pests. First, the UV bulb generates warm light, which is highly attractive to many pest insects.

As a secondary lure, the trap uses a TiO2 titanium dioxide-coated surface that mimics human breath. Mosquitoes will instinctively follow this trail.

CO2 Trail

Next, an exclusive Ti02 titanium dioxide-coated surface, produces a CO2 trail that mimics human breath. Mosquitoes will instinctively follow it in search of a meal.

The final step in the process is a powerful, whisper quiet fan that sucks mosquitoes and other insects into the trap where they dehydrate and die.

Whisper-Quiet Fan

Once attracted to the unit, the powerful, whisper-quiet fan draws the insects and mosquitoes into the retaining cage where they dehydrate and die, typically within 24 hours.

Trapping insects doesn't have to be ugly! DynaTrap Insect Traps are specially designed to blend in with your existing décor.

To avoid attracting insects to where you spend time, place it approximately 20-40 ft away from where people will be sitting.

DynaTrap Insect Traps are easy to use. The trap requires no propane or expansive attractants. Simply plug it in.

This trap works really well. The fan is virtually silent and the blue light is not bothersome at night. I've had it running 24/7 for about 3 weeks now and there was about a 3/4" thick layer of dead bugs in the trap - mostly moths, June beetles, and some mosquitoes. The basket is really easy to remove once it is full. Only problem is that sometimes some of the bugs are still alive, so some insects may fly around - in my case, a face full of moths. Not really a fault of the unit though, just something to consider! Installation was easy - I just hung up up off an existing eye bolt under my pergola. The instructions recommend hanging it up about 20-40 feet away from where you normally sit, but this was my only option until I run another outlet elsewhere. That being said, it was sufficiently out of the way were we didn't notice any increase in bugs. One thing to consider is the size of this thing - it's pretty tall so you want to mount it up high off the ground. Hopefully this will continue to keep the bugs at bay when the rainy season kicks into high gear!

This is an excellent unit as it contains and kills the bugs without having to listen to that annoying "Zap" every time a bug makes contact. The attraction to the Mosquito Trap is from a blue light that emits brilliantly in the night attracting the bugs to the unit. Once inside the device a small and quiet fan sucks them down into a netted canister trap and holds them in place essentially killing them. This is a great addition to any yard trying to control mosquitos.

Living in Florida, and about a month away from mosquito season it seems I am always looking for a remedy to fight the little buggers. Of course, you always have look at cost of operation and maintenance. They say it coast about $4 per month to run, which is the bulb and the fan. The UV-BULB is good for about 3,000 hours. Besides the UV bulb that is an attractant it also produces CO2, human breath. So as bugs are drawn in the fan sucks them in and down to the basket at the bottom. You have to be patient and let it run at least 3-weeks 24/7 to make an impact and 6 weeks to break the breeding cycle. Notice pic 5, that is 8 days 17.5 hours. Mostly June bugs and moths. A few mosquitos, but it has been hot and dry with low humidity. Notice pic 3, that is what in Florida we call a BONSI-KAMACOZI, I have never been bitten by one of these, but still there are no fun to have around. I don't know what pic 2 is, but it is not a worry now. To empty, turn off, un-plug and spray some bug killer to kill what is still alive. The I got a long clear bag and set the machine down inside to remove the basket, remove the top section and quickly close the bag. Then rubber band the top and spray starting fluid, or your choice, down into the bag. Next wash out the basket, re-attach the basket and go again. I realize nothing is 100% but this really seems like it is going to make a big difference. I just heard on the radio that they now are seeing a mosquito, in Florida, that they have not seen in 75 years that can cause yellow fever. Guess what "not" is getting shut off? PS. the frogs and lizards seem to hang out around the machine, they know a good thing when they see it.

I’m impressed. But it took awhile. I live in Colorado and it’s only May. We normally have bugs but they don’t show up until later in the season as it can still be cold this time of year. When I first put this outside I was checking daily but I wasn’t getting any results and figured it was either too early in the year or it just didn’t work. Then I forgot about it for about a week and came back to check. What a difference! I was shocked with how many bugs it had trapped and all different kinds. Moths, tiny bugs and lots of mosquitoes. I can wait till summer comes and see home many more I can catch.

This is not a bug zapper, it is only a trap. However, once in the screen trap, they mostly will die within a few days. It has a glow light to attract the mosquito's and a fan to push them down in to the trap at the bottom of the unit. It has a hook on top similar to other units like this. It can also be placed on the ground once you install the screen catch to the bottom of the unit. I have not used it yet, so I can not say how well it works. It is still too cold to need it here in the north.

This Dynatrap works great. I was amazed how many flying insects were in the trap in just a couple of days. Many mosquitos, flies and moths. The uv blue light is not supposed to attract honey bees or butterflies and so far that has been the case in my yard. It has captured a lot of Oak Leaf Roller moths which is OK with me since we have way too many to our live oak trees. There is a fly that sucks the mosquitos in when they fly around the light. It is very quiet. The unit is pretty easy to clean. We had severaly rain storms since putting the unit up and it is made very well to withstand the weather.

Arriving in good shape, this is an impressively large device. It seems well built, and after a week in our suburban back yard, it has trapped some mosquitoes and a moth, despite some inclement weather. It has a powerful UV light to attract insects, and a fan to bring them in. Despite the fan, I don't think it's going to bring any wasps or yellow jackets. The suction just isn't enough to overpower those bugs.

When I was younger my mother had a similar trap but it would zap the insects and it was very loud but effective. This new way of trapping and containing is better because it is very quiet and effective. I placed the unit on the side of my deck and it has a 9 foot cord cord to reach my outlet. The Replacement DynaTrap Bulb is a 41050 or equivalent G24 Type 56V/7W Bulb which will last if left on 24/7 about 4 month's. The second day I already noticed that it was working. I had to use another top clip because my pole was to large but that's wasn't a big deal. Make sure you empty the trap once a week and enjoy a bug free summer.

First let me say, this is larger than expected. It is 22 inches tall and 13 inches in diameter. I guess it should be to protect such a large area as 3/4 of an acre. It is made of high quality 5VA polycarbonate material that is all types of weather resistant. It has an extra-large UV LED bulb that attracts Mosquitos, Asian Lady Beetle, Wasps, Yellow Jackets, Flies, Stink Bugs. I have it running for a week and have only got moths and June bugs. It does say to have it run for at least 3 weeks to make an impact or 6 weeks to break the breeding cycle. It doesn't make any noise. It has a quiet fan traps insects without zapping or buzzing.

Not a bug zapper but a bug trap. It has a Ultra-Violet light to attract the bugs day and night and then a fan sucks them down into the base which is designed like a wasp trap with funnel shaped opening making it harder for the critter to find their way out. The bottom twists off for easy cleaning. The fan is very quiet and not noticeable especially compared to the zapping of a traditional bug zapper. Just after I set this up the weather turned cold and the bugs all went into hiding so it hasn't been really tested yet but it is catching some bugs already. The bugs don't die right off so I figure I will need to spray some bug killer in the basket to kill off any survivors before emptying.
