Are the P728 springs the replacements for the P726C springs, or are P728L?

Asked by: AA06
Definitely not P728L, as the "L" indicates light duty. It's rated for a lighter door. Not sure about P726C, but probably not.

This garage door spring is the standard tried and true type that has existed for over 70 years. To install it, the door must be fully up and held in place by a two by four. The spring needs to be stretched slightly (about a half inch) as it is hooked in place. These springs are very safe because they feature two safety rods on the inside. Because of the heavy duty construction, they will outlast most of their owners! Some of the springs on my door are at least 50 years old!

The P728 28 in. Plug end extension spring was used for the replacement.. The old spring would let the door droop down in the wind. The new spring is hard to get the door down, Its very heavy duty. The quality of the build on this spring will outlast most of their owners! I would recommend this product to anyone.
