Some reviews stated that the blower tubes fall apart while using. Can someone address this? Also, I had another Echo that I purchased several years ago and the motor makes a terrible banging noise. My guess is that I have at least 300 hours of use with it. Is this the average life span of the blower? Thanks.......
Asked by: Jim
Blower tube fell off where they connect on first use. I reinstalled a little tighter and have had no more problems.

170 MPH 453 CFM 25.4 cc Gas 2-Stroke Cycle Handheld Leaf Blower is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 493.

A couple of years ago I bought an Echo Weed Eater. I couldn't be happier with it. So when again I needed a new leaf blower, I went with the Echo unit. This leaf blower comes out of the box in 3 pieces, the blower body and two tube length sections. Snap the discharge tube together, put clean properly mixed fuel in it and get busy, very simple. The unit is powerful, when operating at full throttle, it pushes back some and holding it in awkward positions is a small effort, but it moves all manner of debris, even damp matted stuff, so power is what you get for that effort. The locking throttle is also a nice feature, allowing you to regularly change grip or left to right hand without having to constantly squeeze the trigger. I haven't had it long, but based on other products from this manufacturer I expect years of excellent service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I purchased Echo Blower based on Brand name and features.... I purchased Echo Blower based on Brand name and features. I am very disappointed with blower for many reasons. I made sure that the first fuel added to the tank was premixed fuel purchased at Home Depo. The blower started as expected with about 3 pulls and I let it idle for about 2 minutes. I turned it off for a later use and when I was ready to use it again started with 3 pulls. I was extremely disappointed as the motor never really ran at its potential, sounded like it was struggling to maintain RPMs. I figured it was due to being new and it would eventually cycle the fuel and it would operate like a new motor should. I used it for about 4 hours that day on different properties but it has not cleared up yet. I would have returned it but I was nowhere close to a Home Depo and the original box it came in had gotten wet during travel. This could be an isolated case but this has been my recent experience and I still would like to return.

Didn't rate it excellent because this is my first blower and I don't have any experience with other blowers. Anyway, like any 2 cycle engine, when cold, it's a little cantankerous to start until you learn the nuances of your particular engine. I need to prime pump it a few more times than suggested and put the choke on one half instead of full. As suggested use short, quick pulls on the rope. Once warmed up it restarts easily. Not too noisy or heavy for my 70 yr. old body. Design is nice and the hot exhaust muffler is shielded so you can't burn yourself. Air filter is simple to access. The end tube will not come off if you give it a good extra clockwise turn when installing it. Not to insult anyone's intelligence but DO mix the gas/oil exactly to 50:1. Put some gas stabilizer in your gas can too. Owner's manual says you can use gasohol but I would be reluctant to do that.

I have been using Echo blowers for over 20 years doing part-time landscape work. This blower just purchased through Home Depot in February 2019 has a fatal flaw in the power tube attachment.....It won't stay attached and blows off with more than low speeds. Doing customer yards requires two hands: one to hold the tube on and the other on the throttle. The tube doesn't mount securely or twist to lock even with using a good amount of strength to either try to twist it to lock or force on further. While always good in the past, this model has failed me. Duct tape or screwing on might seem like a good solution, however some yards require me to remove the tube in tight spots. Echo needs an answer to my flawed purchase. I located about 5 other reviews out of all listed from other customers experiencing this issue. Anyone experiencing this flaw will rightfully give only 1 or 2 stars. So inconvenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from light and powerful I finally broke down and decided to replace an early 2000s homelite backpacker that still starts on the second pull but didn't have enough power to toss edge clippings back onto the lawn. I initially bought an Ego 530cfm model that initially worked great but then had a connection issue by the third use. that was powerful on turbo mode and maybe slightly better than my old homelite on the high non-turbo setting. When I returned the Ego I decided to give this Echo a shot since they even warranty it 2 years for commercial use. figured it would be good quality and was $30 less than the Ego. I got my new Echo home, added gas, and it also was running by the second pull (first pull it fired and you have to adjust it off choke). After it warms up as others have mentioned it has plenty of power. Noticeably better than the Ego on high non-turbo mode, and only slightly less than turbo mode. Best part is that the Echo is way lighter and more nimble to swing around too. So far it's a win win!

Echo's trying to milk me for 175$ to have it repaired. really? under warranty, with HD warranty too and you're doing this... well echo is junk for all I care... HD and Echo shame on you for not covering your warranty... I'm never buying from either again...

This is my first leaf blower and I went with ECHO because I believe the engine quality is one of the better products on the market. After considering several brands (MTD, Hitachi, Stihl, etc) and reading about the warranty nightmares, I wanted to try the Echo brand because the specifications appear to be a strong blower at a great price. I purchased this leaf blower in the spring and have used it to clean up debris around buildings, clean gunk from rain gutters, dry off cars and blow dirt from under car seats and various other tasks. Out of the box, I think the carburetor is set a little lean and its sealed from tampering, and I have not had any starting difficulty as indicated in other reviews. I also purchased an ECHO SRM string trimmer in the past year and its also a great piece of equipment (it runs strong after increasing the fuel rate to compensate for ethanol in the gas). Because Home Depot will not ship ECHO 2-cycle oil, I use STIHL Synthetic oil (grey bottle) purchased from a local retailer to ensure the engine has proper lubrication under demanding conditions. The 5-year home use warranty is also hard to beat with any comparable power equipment.

Was replacing a Husqvarna old blower, thought this seemed good value. Like many others, I was unable to keep the plastic blower pipe attached. "Turn until it locks," the manual said. Good luck. Would not lock. Plus cheap plastic construction not a good value for the price. Back it goes. Sometimes the only good thing about HD is that they'll take junk back.
