Hi! Thank you for your inquiry. The Brushcutter Harness, Part #99944200202, features a waist belt. To view the installation manual for this harness, please visit the following link; https://www.echo-usa.com/getattachment/555b2e7f-6915-4926-b337-96d7576e2c0d/99944200202e_072111.pdf.
It should, but might require an additional part. The harness is equipped with a clip which attaches to a ring on the shaft housing. It appears that the SRM 225 does not come with a harness ring, but you can order a ring attachment for under $10 and mount it to your shaft. Just Google "Echo straight shaft harness ring". I have an Echo Power Head PAS-266 with various attachments, and the harness works very well with it. My Power Head came equipped with a harness ring located just below the on-off switch. The total shaft length with the weed eater attachment is 56-1/2". The SRM 225 has a shaft length of 59" according to the specs, so you should be able to locate the ring attachment somewhere along the shaft so that the unit will be well balanced and comfortable since the shaft length difference is only 2-1/2 inches. Of course, having the opinion of someone who has actually modified their SRM 225 for the harness would be preferable, but this is "all I got"!
It will fit just about anything and is well built but im a medium sized guy (6' at 230 lbs) and I thought it was a bit restrictive.
ECHO offers a shoulder strap for the GT models. The part number is, #99944200201.
I use this on an Echo SRM -210 trimmer and it really allows me to use the trimmer for a much longer length of time..
The 4-Point Burshcutter Harness, Part #99944200202, is designed for use with the ECHO Straight Shaft (SRM) models only.
If you are a "full figured" person, you might have trouble. This product is small. Though the straps can be extended a lot, if you are taller than 5 foot 9 or so, and more than 200lbs I wouldn't recommend it. The waist belt is too high (and fixed). Not worth the money in my opinion. It would be perfect for someone 5 foot 7 or shorter and 165 pounds or less.
No, it is not compatible with pruners.
No the Echo pms 225 does not come with ring to attach this harness.
Yes it can. I use it every two weeks with no problem.
