Hi! Thank you for your inquiry. The Brushcutter Harness, Part #99944200202, features a waist belt. To view the installation manual for this harness, please visit the following link; https://www.echo-usa.com/getattachment/555b2e7f-6915-4926-b337-96d7576e2c0d/99944200202e_072111.pdf.

Will this work with the SRM 225?

It should, but might require an additional part. The harness is equipped with a clip which attaches to a ring on the shaft housing. It appears that the SRM 225 does not come with a harness ring, but you can order a ring attachment for under $10 and mount it to your shaft. Just Google "Echo straight shaft harness ring". I have an Echo Power Head PAS-266 with various attachments, and the harness works very well with it. My Power Head came equipped with a harness ring located just below the on-off switch. The total shaft length with the weed eater attachment is 56-1/2". The SRM 225 has a shaft length of 59" according to the specs, so you should be able to locate the ring attachment somewhere along the shaft so that the unit will be well balanced and comfortable since the shaft length difference is only 2-1/2 inches. Of course, having the opinion of someone who has actually modified their SRM 225 for the harness would be preferable, but this is "all I got"!

What chest and waist size dose this go up to? I a full figured person. Some say fits all is not true.

If you are a "full figured" person, you might have trouble. This product is small. Though the straps can be extended a lot, if you are taller than 5 foot 9 or so, and more than 200lbs I wouldn't recommend it. The waist belt is too high (and fixed). Not worth the money in my opinion. It would be perfect for someone 5 foot 7 or shorter and 165 pounds or less.

Two months ago I bought the Echo SRM-410U heavy-duty brush cutter which weighs around 20 pounds fueled. The brush cutter is really great and half the price of the equivalent Stihl product, but it has two deficiencies: the blade it comes with isn't that durable and wears out quickly, and the standard harness it comes with is awkward and uncomfortable to wear for long cutting sessions. If you're buying that brush cutter, order some good carbide blades with it and order this harness! Compared to the harness which comes with the unit, this premium harness is far more comfortable and distributes the weight of the unit more equally over the shoulders. The padding is better and this harness is much easier to don and adjust. Once you have the straps adjusted to fit your torso, putting the harness on or taking it off is as simple as putting on a vest with a single clasp in the front to secure it. The only difficulty with either harness is clipping the brush cutter into the mechanism on the side; you must pull open the spring-loaded clip while putting the heavy machine's lifting ring into it. That's easier to do with an assistant lifting the unit for you but it can be managed alone with some effort. Taking off the machine is more easily done; holding it balanced in one hand you merely tug the clip's ring up to release it. Once the machine is secured to the harness it is comfortable using the machine to cut brush for hours. My only difficulty was in having to re-mount the unit after taking it down for refueling and breaks. With practice it gets a little easier but it's still tricky if you're working alone. I definitely recommend this harness for the SRM-410U brush cutter. It is far superior to the one that comes with it.
