Works great. Happy with it.
Totally worked great. Have old home that still had one area with lead paint. This sealed it well and did a test after using product and its safe. No lead present. Very good product.

It's never a happy day to discover there's lead paint in the house. This is a great alternative to completely removing all the paint. However it's no fun this way either. Preparing to paint requires safety respirators, plastic drape, careful preparation and planning. It won't get done in one day. The paint itself is the one my city government lead abatement webpage information recommended. You have to order online. It is tintable. It does not apply well. It's very thick and a bit gritty. I used a brush for edges and a roller for the rest. Some areas have 2 coats, some have four coats. The paint smells bad and regardless of the statement it had low VOCs it set the smoke alarm off while drying. Smell lingered for 2 days but did finally go away. Compared to removing all the paint or replacing the woodwork this was easier but it was still no day at the park. However I feel better about being in my laundry room now and that's something.

I took the siding off a small enclosed back porch on our 1925 home and found a lovely little open porch with railings, all unfortunately covered in lead paint. I could not afford a lead abatement team. It was very stressful. I took off some of the more egregious peeling areas with liquid paint stripper. However, when it was not raining, it was sunny and windy, so the stripper would dry as I was working and the wind would blow the plastic like a sail, so that the semi-dry lead-infused goo made a mess. Finally, I found Ecobond to treat the rest. I am trusting that what came in a can (lead paint) can be solved with a can (Ecobond). I treated the whole porch, and am now preparing to paint and add some period molding. If any more paint peels while the next generation are on the porch or in the yard, I will not be a nervous wreck. It is now "The Peaceful Poet's Porch." Thank you, Ecobond! We are tentatively planning to take the old vinyl siding off the rest of the house and treat the whole thing with Ecobond! I only wish Ecobond was able to sell a product to consumers to treat the lead in the soil around our homes, which is the sad legacy of years of chipping paint.

After two coats, still tests positive for lead....
I've put two coats of this on the trim on my stairs where my puppy was starting to chew it. Maybe the bitter compound in it will prevent puppy chewing in future, which would be good, but the trim still tested positive for lead on a surface test 3 times.

Product was great I wish home Depot would actually stock it in their store. Home Depots store is literally a warehouse and they can't have something like this take up a little bit of shelf space in the paint section yet they can sell 100 different types of primer. Do better Home Depot. Most homes in the United States have lead paint in them. So why wouldn't you offer something that mitigates it that's basic economic logic and is a win-win for both your business and homeowners.

Used it to seal an old door that had some lead paint on it after stripping. Let it dry well. The finish paint however seems to soften the lead defender and it never really dried. Had to strip the door again. Didn’t use this product the second time. Dried just fine.
