Can this be used as a primer for wood floors on a screened porch?

Asked by KP July 15, 2017
1
Answer

Great question, yet not the first! We are very careful to discourage any use on those friction areas such as floors, and window jams. Having said that, we have been used on stairs, garage floors, and wooden floors while suggesting in conjunction with Ecobond that an actual "floor paint", and or epoxy be used tested for these conditions. There are several floor paints on the market that would then be applied over Ecobond in sealing and treating those hazardous lead conditions. Any additional questions can be answered by contacting us at Ecobondlbp.com or 720-463-3077

Answer

Hello, You will still need to clean the walls even if smoke was not a concern to properly prepare them for a coating. ECOBOND products will adhere very well but if what they are adhering too is not stuck, the entire system will fail. If you are concerned about lead, you will need to follow proper state regulations prior to applying ECOBOND products. Internal testing has provided results showing to reduce odor, while providing hiding capabilities. Depending on the severity of the staining, you may want to use the ECOBOND Lead Defender Pro as a primer providing lead treatment capabilities and odor reduction, then use a paint specifically designed for stain blocking aesthetics for your top coat. Depending on the severity of lead and the surface porosity, multiple coats of ECOBOND may be needed. For further assistance you may visit our website at ecobondlbp.com or call 303-456-6997.

Can this paint use on the heating radiator cast iron coil? What is the temperature resistant for ...

Asked by zelon January 1, 2017

Answer

This is not the first time this question has come up since many of these older homes have these types of radiators. Treat Ecobond like any other Latex paint, yet remember it was not made to withstand extreme temperatures. Having said that, we have been successful for use on these units when applied with a compatible heat tolerant paint product application. These types of paints can withstand those higher heat temperatures and when used over Ecobond may in fact work. We suggest a small test patch prior to a full application. Contact me or log onto our website for additional information. 720-463-3077 / Ecobondlbp.com
