Does this come with the rapid charger?

Asked by: Mountainroo
There are no speed options on the charger but I have found it to be pretty fast (30 minutes). I recommend always charging indoors where it is cool. The charger has a built-in fan and makes a little noise.

After a couple months of very light usage, though, a part broke. Before you buy an EGO mower, look at their website (https://egopowerplus.com/pages/contact-us). Note that they handle warranty claims over the phone. Be prepared, if your mower breaks, to waste a couple hours on hold. Once someone finally answers on EGO's support number, they'll direct you to a specific Home Depot with a repair shop. The staff at Home Depot had no idea what to do with an EGO mower, so that process takes a few hours. And then they send your mower off to a different location for service anyway. I'd love to tell you what happens next, but I can't, because they've had my mower for a month now. The helpful gentleman I was able to reach on the phone said that they haven't started working on it yet, and it would likely be another 4-6 weeks. All this just to say- the EGO mower is a bit pricey, but it's a lot more expensive when you factor in that you may need to buy a second lawnmower. A 5-year warranty sounds great, but if you only need the mower a couple months out of the year and it spends most of that time in service, what are you actually paying for?

If you are in need of purchasing a new push mower the EGO is impressive, it is Battery pack powered... The engineers were TRUE ENGINERS, The handle adjusts to the shortest person or a tall person, the cutting depth adjustment is an easy one lever style that has quick access and easily moved with one hand. It started the first time every time I started it, the vibration and noise is hardly noticeable, I mowed over a 1/4 of an acre and the battery was still fully charged and still on green, I mowed through grass that was over 10" and wet in several places and it never bogged down... It's light weight and you can actually mow with one hand, IT IS NOT SELF PROPELLED, it worked much easier than a self-propelled mower. and cut's easliy pushing it forward or pulling it backwards... I'm TRULY IMPRESSED.... No dislikes

Replaced a 6 yr old 36V B&D electric mower, and it's like 'night and day' difference. The EGO has an amazing amount of torque and didn't bog down even in the tall wet grass. Good suction - when using the bag, I probably ended up with 3 times as much in grass clippings compared to the B&D. Easy setup and storage. Adjusting height is easy and takes about 3 seconds. Takes me 30-45 minutes to mow the lawn, and there's enough power in the 5AH battery that if the grass has really grown long between mows and I want to mulch, I can make 2 passes at increasingly lower settings for key parts of the lawn. One thing I do miss from the B&D is the ability to just plug it in to charge as opposed to having to remove the battery to put on the charger. Not a big deal, and the battery does charge pretty fast (less than 1 hr from 25% charge left).

I'm writing a six month review while I'm waiting on the battery to charge. This mower would probably be great for someone with a very small yard or very thin grass. BACKGROUND: I purchased this mower in March, and at the time, I was highly impressed with its performance. I could mow my entire front yard on a single charge of the 5 amp battery, and sometimes could get a start on the back. As we moved into summer here in North Georgia, I began to realize that the mower was in no way suitable for my yard. My yard consists of primarily bermuda grass (roughly 60%), with about 40% what we call field fescue that has creeped in over the years . It has much thicker blades. The lot is .5 acres of level ground, absent of rocks. The mower deck is set at 3 inches, because 2 inches would be a complete nightmare. Good Things: Mower has the necessary power. SO much more quite than a gas mower. All of my neighbors have commented on it. Batteries are interchangeable between EGO products. Problems: I believe that this mower has one MAJOR flaw. The majority of the grass that it mulches ends up stuck to the bottom side of the deck. This causes the following problems: The mower bogs down more easily The motor must work harder so the battery doesn't last as long Because the motor is working harder, the battery also gets extremely hot Build up leads to sections of grass not being cut The only way to truly remove all of the build up is to take a hose to it. I'm to the point now that I have to mow my yard every 4 days. I dread when it rains, because it means that I'll have even thicker grass to mow and even more batteries to run through. Some might say that it's because I'm mowing when the grass is wet, but the pictures provided today are after 2 days with no rain and high 80 degree temperatures. I hate to give the mower such a bad review. I'm all in on the EGO brand, owning the majority of their products, and I plan to continue to use them. If you have thick grass as shown in my pictures, I beg you to reconsider purchasing this mower. You'll be saving yourself the headache that I've endured. 6 months in, and I think it's time for me to return to gasoline. I look forward to the day that EGO puts out something a little more powerful! I welcome any questions or useful ideas.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ego Push Mower The product is sturdy and well made in terms of storage and durability. But....the grass side-discharge doesn't function properly....the clippings build up quickly on the underside deck, forcing you to stop, tilt the unit and clear it in order to continue. The battery heats up and goes into shutdown mode with moderate usage....you have to wait until it cools to proceed. Also, the battery life is not as advertised. EGO should ship the mower with two batteries....one charging while one is in use. I called EGO, explained these concerns and requested an additional battery. I was told no. EGO's solution was to raise the mower height and gradually reduce it as I go over and over the area until I reach the desired height. Are you kidding me? And I was also told that cutting your grass every 10 days isn't recommended. I don't know many people who cut their grass 2x a week. I returned the product. Shame....I also own their blower and string trimmer....which I like.

This was like going to a movie where the reviews were awesome, only to find out shortly in, mid way and at the end it was just an utter flop. I honestly don't think my mower was broken or had anything wrong with it per say, it just simply didn't perform or measure up to my standards of what a lawn mower should do period... All I've ever owned was gas mowers (probably like everyone else), when my gas mower wouldn't start after some 10 years I figured it was time to upgrade. I reviewed multiple options and figured, why not give a cordless a try. Overall I'm glad I tried and don't consider it a total loss, but have to say I'm astonished that this thing gets such rave reviews, when it can in no way compete with an average gas mower of lesser cost. I only owned the EGO about 6 weeks, and ran it about 4-5 times. Definitely long enough to give it a fair shot. Sure convenience wise it beats a gas mower any day. charging a battery vs. having to gas up and change oil every other season is easier for sure, and the mower itself is much lighter than a gas mower. But that's about where all the positives end... It didn't matter if it was dry, wet, mild length grass or tall, the best conditions one could want, and I still found myself having to go over a line twice to get a nice cut. The first time would cut most everything, but would leave bits on the sides not cut and just look sloppy. This was most frustrating as it basically increased my mowing time by double. The 2nd and also huge loss was (I assume) not a high enough rpm rate such that there was no suction and not enough power to really throw the grass in the bag. If the grass was wet at all this thing completely sucked, left clumps of grass that wouldn't get sucked up, or would get gummed up in the underneath of the mower or bunch up near the rear bagging area. Where I live in the northwest you can't always count on a few good dry days to mow a dry lawn. I was cutting the grass every weekend too, so it's not like I was cutting 12" long grass... Forget about trying to use this as a general leaf / grass picker upper. It literally had no suction to it. I'm used to being able to go over the sidewalks after mowing to pick up blow misc grass & leaves away. Not this thing though. Here's another thing, when the bad does get full and you go to dump it and fire it back up and run over clumped grass that got left behind it wouldn't pick it up, not even a little bit of it. If there was any wetness the grass really sticks to the inside as the mower just doesn't have enough umph to blow it somewhere. So in the fall when there's tons of foliage and wetness I can imagine this thing would do next to nothing. Needless to say in terms of raw performance it didn't measure up at all, and I've had budget mowers my whole life, so it's not like I'm comparing this to $600 mowers, but $200 - $300 ones. Few neighbors saw that I had it. I'm sure they'll ask where it went and I won't be afraid to give my honest opinion. Overall I'm glad I tried it, found out what I needed to, but I've returned it, thankfully it was within 90 days, will not look back with any regrets and will stick with gas all the way. I'll take refueling and yearly maintenance any day if it means a mower that actually performs how it should. I am really left to wonder though how did this thing get such great reviews when my experience with it has been so poor?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 21inch ego mower I bought this at home depot 3 weeks ago and have used it twice already. It is very quiet, easy to operate, the battery boosts very fast on the initial charge (haven't recharged yet). I chose it to replace my old Black and Decker CMM1200. WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Also stores easy taking up less space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please read if you have any questioning... At first I was very hisitant. This is the onky mower my wife will use to mow. She loves how quiet and light weight it is. I bought this mower over 1.5 years ago. I purposely havent left a review yet so I could put the mower to the test. I have nothing but good things to say about this mower. I have had one problem with it I hit a metal pipe coming out of the yard that I didnt know was there. Well it damaged the electronics but ego said that should not have happened and instead of fixing my mower they just sent me a brand new one in thr box with no questions asked. This company has the best customer service that I have ever experiened. I own 1 or 2 of every tool they one and I LOVE THEM! Dont worry because if you have a problem thry will take care of you!!! Just waiting for their ridding mower version now!!!!!:)
