Product Overview

The Autumn Majesty ENCORE AZALEA promises to bring bounties of beautiful blooms to your landscape. The Autumn Majesty produces rich semi-double, purple blooms that have a delicately ruffled appearance to them. Blooms first appear in the spring in an impressive display. However you use it, you really can't go wrong.

Will it do well in zone 10B?

Asked by Yve June 1, 2021
1
Answer

It depends on where you are in 10b. It will do well in the Southeast , but not so well in the Southwest, places like Phoenix, Las Vegas, Denver, Albuquerque, etc. Not sure about Los Angeles. They prefer acidic soils, and the soils in most of the West are alkaline, due to less rain. Will do okay in the coastal Northwest, not well in the high deserts of Oregon, Idaho, etc.

This flower is good for summer and winter?

Asked by Lily May 28, 2021

Answer

No, not Winter. Once in Spring, off and on in Summer, and some Fall bloom. Some bloom more in Summer and Fall than others.

ENCORE AZALEA AUTUMN MAJESTY SHRUB --- does this product thrive in zone 9b? or is it risky to gr...

Asked by xqn May 13, 2021

Answer

A lot will depend on what part of the country you're in, and how acidic your soil is. They do well along the Southern Gulf Coasts (they were bred in Louisiana), but should also be okay on California coast with some afternoon shade and careful watering. Plant them a little bit high, mulch well and water regularly the first year. Your main problem will likely have more to do with the Ph of your soil, rather than the heat, unless you're in the desert.

VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE SIZE ... THE BUCKET MIGHT HAVE BEEN 2 GALLON , BUT THE AZALEA WAS VERY SMALL ... I AM A LANDSCAPER , THE NURSERIES USUALLY SELL 3 GALLON , THERE WAS QUITE A DIFFERENCE IN SIZE FROM 3 GALLON TO 2 GALLON ... COULD NOT GET THE MAJESTY AT ANY NURSERIES SO I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE NICE TO PURCHASE IT FROM H.D.
