Hi Bruce. Yes, this post meets the IBC Codes that require it to withstand a minimum 200lb force at the top. Our sealed engineered drawings for this system are available at https://www.ezhandrail.com/aluminum-railing/square-baluster-railing/#squaredocs or just go to www.ezhandrail.com an navigate to documents if you don't want to type in the long URL. Thank you for your question. Dan H. (EZ Handrail Dev. Team)
Hi JimG. Yes, you can order these posts without bases. I believe this duplicated by accident. Email support@ezhandrail.com with your request.
Hi JimG. Yes, you can get this post without the base via special order. Simply email your request to support@ezhandrail.com along with your preferred Home Depot store and we'll coordinate from there.
Hi Ronald. A 2.5" minimum edge distance for concrete is highly recommended for 1/4" masonry anchors into concrete (actually more is recommended, but experience tells us this rarely happens). You can always reach us at support@ezhandrail.com with more specific project questions. Thank you for your question. Dan H. (EZ Handrail Dev. Team)
Hi. I appreciate your question, the statement is ambiguous and will be updated. Yes, this post is recommended for stair applications with the pivot mounts. All EZ Posts can be used on slopes (e.g. ramps) with shims or stainless washers (not included). Thank you for your consideration, Dan H. (EZ Handrail Dev. Team)
Cut it down with a metal chop saw for best results
Hi Axle, type in model# EZPRHB-W to find a similar post to three years ago. The only difference is it has a welded 5x5 plate on the bottom versus a separate mounting flange. It feels much sturdier and is easier to install. If you must have the old two piece post please call or email: 573.365.7040 or support@ezhandrail.com. Thank you for your question, Dan H. (EZ Handrail Dev. Team)
This post kit includes four 4" through bolts and spiked tee nuts. The bolt will travel through the post base, through the decking, and finally through "backer" support lumber you install underneath the deck boards between the joists. Please do not use decking board screws; they will fail resulting in a very dangerous situation. Also, wood lag screws are not provided, but sometimes required. 3 5/8" FastenMaster LedgerLocs are my preferred wood screws . Your question may have been referring to lags, but it is important to make these distinctions for everyone to read. Here is a link to the LedgerLocs: http://www.homedepot.com/p/FastenMaster-LedgerLok-3-5-8-in-Coarse-Steel-Hex-Head-Wood-Screws-250-Pack-FMLL358B-250/202502179?MERCH=REC-_-SearchPLPHorizontal1_rr-_-NA-_-202502179-_-N Thank you for your consideration, Dan H.
