This stand-alone EZ 3" x 3" post incorporates strength, style, and a variety of installation methods either using its 5 in. x 5 in. mounting base for surface installations or after a quick cut without the base for direct burial and core-drilled installs. Additionally, this multipurpose post handles all line, corner, end, stair and gate applications and is compatible will all EZ Handrail products. Please check your local codes for proper frost line burial depths.

Are these blanks of do they have holes in them?
This 96" post has a 5"x5" welded plate at the bottom, predrilled with 4 holes. It includes a post cap (no holes predrilled for cap).

Yes the posts are hollow. They have a 5x5 welded plate on the bottom and come with wood and concrete fasteners and a 3x3 pyramid cap, you will need a base cover in the color of you posts it has to be ordered separately.
Does this pole come in a 10' option?

So, I'm thinking about purchasing and cutting in half for mounting through fascia boards. Really don't want to deal with trying to cut off welded mounting plates. Can they be special ordered without the welded mounting plates? I see conflicting answers.

The description says "Welded 5 in. x 5 in. base plate for quick install". Is this accurate? Does it come with the flange welded on?
Hi Griller. Yes, that is accurate, we now weld a 5" x 5" x 1/4/" aluminum base plate to the post and then powder coat the entire assembly. This gives you a more finished look that the previous "separate flange" version which required lots of drilling and hardware. Moreover, you can now use the EZ Low Profile Base Cover (search model# EZBCHB-LP) to hide the base plate. We also are testing a new upper internal flange that allows you to fill the 3x3 post opening and screw into a ceiling joist (7/6/2021). If this was used as a corner awning support, what would we use to fasten it to the underside of the awning which is flat at the corner? I dont see any fastening bracket and cover available.
