Product Details

The Dirt Auger, our newest addition to the Switch Bit line, is used for auguring under sidewalks and drive ways. The dirt auger system requires only a minimal starting and ending hole on either side of the structure. Due to its flexible spring steel shank this bit can be curved and aimed in the direction needed and drills only a large enough hole to pull wire or pipe back through. No need for a costly hydraulic system or a sledge hammer, a standard power drill does all the work. The Switch Bit line offers interchangeable head styles and various shank lengths so you can quickly customize your set for any application or situation.

A: Yes, I use them on a daily basis in 40 foot lengths or more jobs. But when going big attach only 2 rods at a time for better control.

A: Yes, we have a Switch Bit shank that is 69" long and we have two 1/4" extensions. ET25069 is the shank ETHX25036 is the 36" extension ETHX25054 is the 54" extension

A: The shank diameter is 1/4" and made of spring steel for flexibility. The shank does have a tree flat non-slip grip on the chuck end.

Hello Dustin, This is an interchangeable bit and we have several shank lengths to chose from. The head can be removed and other shanks attached. We also offer extensions in a 36" and 54" length.
The part numbers for the extra shanks are: ET25015 (15" long), ET25021 (21" long), ET25033 (33" long), ET25051 (51" long), ET25069 (69" long).
The part numbers for extensions are: ETHX25036 and ETHX25054
