I needed just one to cover an old meter box after we moved our electric service. While I"m sure there are ways to get a plastic cover much cheaper before shipping, since I only needed one I paid the asking price with zero shipping.

It's a hard clear plastic that plugs right in where the meter would otherwise be.
We have just moved a guest house off off our property. I would like to cover the meter socket. Are covers universal size? Are they panel specific? How do i know what I need?
Hello GregD, For 1st Question : Suitable for use with 1MP, 1MM, 3MM residential modular meter stacks, There are two options available with this type of covers : Note 1: P/N : 1MMPCP Circular cover mounted on ring or ringless devices preventing access to meter socket while meter is not in place. Includes four plastic tabs that plug into each jaw. Note 2: Same as 1MMPCP minus the tabs located in the back to plug into jaws. This device to be used while meter bypass jumpers are in place (1MMBPJ). Regards, Eaton
Yes, Edison makes one meter. So no mater what brand panel you may have. This cover will plug in. Just make sure you can use your old collar, or you may need to purchase one of those as well. Also universal
Yes. They'll fit any 4 jaw or 5 jaw meter.
