Q:Can you plug in the water heater with a extension cord
    by|Dec 11, 2023
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Hello there! The i12-NG tankless water heater is furnished with a 3-feet power cord designed for connection to a 110/120 volts electrical outlet. It is imperative to note that we strongly discourage the use of power extension cords or any attempt to splice, cut, extend, or hardwire the power cord to an electrical panel. Such practices may lead to power surges or electrical issues, especially if an extension cord is damaged or experiences a short circuit. In the interest of safety, we highly advise against utilizing extension cords and instead recommend directly plugging the water heater into a dedicated electrical power socket. This precautionary measure serves to mitigate the potential impact of electrical problems. In the event of an electrical issue, this configuration ensures that any disruption is confined to the outlet itself, safeguarding the proper operation of the tankless water heater. Should you require further guidance in selecting the appropriate water heater, our knowledgeable team is readily available to assist. Q:Can this be plugged into a 110V wall outlet with a 15 or 20 amp breaker? Or does it require its own dedicated circuit with a higher amp breaker, such as 60 amp? (The ELECTRIC tankless units require a dedicated 60 amp circuit ). I have a 20 amp outlet,

      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Hello there! Certainly! The Eccotemp i12 is designed for convenient use and can be easily plugged directly into a standard 110-120V outlet, offering a hassle-free setup. On the other hand, the Electric Tankless series, specifically the IE series (IE11 and IE27), requires a more robust electrical setup. It necessitates a dedicated circuit with a minimum 50-amp breaker and operates on a higher voltage of 240V. It's important to be aware of these specific requirements when considering the IE series for your water heating needs. However, the manufacturing of the IE series is temporarily on hold. This pause in production is due to ongoing efforts to enhance and introduce additional features to further improve its functionality. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to refine and innovate our Electric Tankless series. Should you require further guidance in selecting the appropriate water heater, our knowledgeable team is readily available to assist. Q:Can this unit be vented to the roof?
        by|Oct 23, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Hello there! The Eccotemp i12 Natural Gas Tankless water heater offers the convenience of vertical venting up to the roof when equipped with the recommended 3" vertical vent kit, complete with a 2.5" to 3" vent adapter for seamless installation. Ensuring optimal performance and safety, it is imperative to complement the setup with a dedicated 3" vertical condensation drain pipe. This strategic addition prevents any condensation water from flowing back into the water heater, thereby maintaining its efficiency and longevity. The vents, constructed from stainless steel in Category III, have been specifically designed for this purpose. It is crucial to note that alternative materials such as galvanized or PVC are strongly discouraged, as they may compromise the system's effectiveness and pose potential risks. To guarantee the optimal functioning of the Eccotemp i12 Natural Gas Tankless water heater, adherence to these installation guidelines is strongly advised. Thank you! Team Eccotemp

The unit never picked the flow of water , even with several open faucets with an over all water pressure of about 60 - 70 psi. Also tried the relief valve at the heater, still the unit would not pick up the flow. Already have a unit ( different mfg. ) installed and it works great, if it was still being produced it would have been my first choice. Will be returning this and making another selection.

Do NOT Purchase this or any of their products. Poor Quality, peice of crap. I owned the unit for a full 18 months before it stopped working. The company warranty is worthless. If you are interested in throwing away a crap load of money on the unit, installation, removal and shipping of the unit back to them. Then go right ahead and toss your money.

Seems to work well. Haven't really used it much yet, just testing. Is a little bit noisy but, not horribly. Installation is pretty simple. Seems as though it will work great for my little house.

For this price point best heater you can get. Vent pipe does cause overall cost to rise though. Can only run one shower or appliance at a time for hot water. All sinks running will have hot water. Water temperature at heater set at 133 heat out of faucet is 109 roughly in December. 3 bed 2 bath

This unit is very effective and supplies our homes needs. We are happy with this product for now and have hopes that it will last for many years. We also installed a check valve and clean out valves below the unit and cut off valves going to the supply lines both hot and cold. This will allow us to clean this unit periodically with white vinegar to remove the scale and lime build up adding to the units life.

This is exactly what I needed. No inside tank to take up so much room. The house is small to begin with. No more waiting for hot water.
