I bought two boxes of 3 Filters quite some time ago to install in my Brita water pitcher after the last Brita was used. I bought the filters because of the claims that led me to believe they were better than the Brita filters. The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was that the EcoPure filters were about half the height of the Brita Filters. No problem, I thought. Perhaps they were better because they had better innards. When I pushed the filter into place in the pitcher, I noticed there was no tight fit like the Brita Filters. But that turned out to be a major problem, because when I put water into the top section, the filter floated up out of it's seat, allowing all the water to drain immediately into the pitcher. So the filter was absolutely useless in my Brita pitcher because it wouldn't stay in place. In the photo, there's only an inch of water in the top chamber, but that's enough for the filter to float out of its seat. The lab results are a joke if the filter won't stay in its seat. I finally got the filter to fit tightly into the seat by wrapping a couple layers of cellophane tape around the outside of the sealing lip, but I shouldn't have to do that. I don't know how long that will work. Once I got the filter to stay in place, it appears to filter okay --- at least as good a taste to the water as the Brita.

Easy to use and quick. I would recommend rinsing the filter prior to use. The first week there is a filter taste but does dissipate. Do not overfill the pitcher, the filter will float and therefor not suit it purpose. Been great for my busy household. Great product for the price.

    Tasted Same, Fit My Brita
It's shorter than I expected, but fit in my Brita filter just fine. It lasts the same as the old filter and the water tasted the same to me, so that's a win. No specks of black stuff either, which I had noticed in past filters I've tried. I feel like it filtered the water faster, but I've never timed the old one, so I don't know if I noticed it now because I was looking for it or not. I like that these cost less than more name-brand filters, and since I couldn't notice a difference, I'm planning on continuing with them.

    Good, Low Cost Alternative
Even though the filter is significantly smaller than the manufacturer's filter, it still fit in our brita pitcher. I have attached comparison and close up pictures of the filters compared to the brita brand. The family agrees that the water tastes the same as it did with the brita filter and did not notice a change in brand until I told them. I was unable to find what micron rating that brita filters have. It doesn't seem like the company reports that anywhere on the internet. The ecopure filters state clearly that they are 5 microns. The impatient people in the family enjoy that the ecopure filters the water much more quicker than the old brita filters.

Great filters at a much lower cost!
EcoPure universal pitcher filters fit my Brita Pitcher as perfectly as the Brita filters do, and at half the price! These filters seem to perform even better. There are no black specks of black carbon dust floating in the reservoir either. These filters reduce chlorine taste and odor, the reason I bought a water filter pitcher to begin with, the flow through the filter is faster reducing particulates as small as 5 microns, NSF International tested and certified. The filter life is estimated for 40 gallons or 2 months, the same as the Brita. Another plus, there is no filter pre-soaking or flushing needed. There are 3 filters per box. Made in the USA. 30 day limited warranty. The only reason I didn't give a 5 Star rating was these filters are a lighter weight so be sure not to overfill your reservoir ;causes the filter to float so could be less effective. I have attached a photo comparing the size of a Brita filter to the EcoPure and a photo showing how perfectly the EcoPure filter fits into the well.

    Great cost savings
I have a PUR water pitcher. I've always purchased the filters by PUR, no longer!! To think that you can get a package of 3 filters for the price of one, was crazy....but true! The Ecopure universal pitcher filter can be used on both Brita and Pur water pitchers (Yippee!) It's the same when talking about the need for replacement...approx. 40 gallons. This filter doesn't need presoaking or flushing which is different than the Pur replacement filters...those you have to flush, first. Also, it also has certified filtration without messy black carbon dust, which who wants to see that? If you have a water pitcher and like the fact that you can basically buy 3 filters for the price of 1...then this product is for you!

    A Fast Alternative
We filter just about all of our drinking water through our Brita pitcher. Whether we are making coffee, tea or just a glass full on ice, it comes from our pitcher that sits on our kitchen counter by the sink. So we are constantly refilling the pitcher several times per day. Having to wait on a slow filter to fill the pitcher is like watching paint dry or grass grow, if you know what I mean. So naturally, a fast filter would be heartily welcomed. The EcoPure filter perfectly fits just what we need. It cuts the time in half that it takes to fill the pitcher now - it's very fast and we couldn't be happier! It's very small, about a third less than the Brita, but it still fits snugly in the pitcher. The water tastes just as good as the Brita also. It's faster and cheaper; it's our new filter from now on. Five plus stars!

    Faster Filter!
The EcoPure Pitcher Filter works much faster than the Brita filter and doesn't have to be soaked first. The water tastes the same to me when using this filter, and, I appreciate not having to hang around the sink waiting for the pitcher to fill ! I fill my Brita each evening after adding water to the coffeemaker - This is the last thing I do before heading to bed and sometimes I find myself annoyed because it's taking so-o-o-o long for the pitcher to refill. At first I didn't think it would work in my Brita because of the difference in size. However, the circumference is the same and it fit just fine. This filter is an economical replacement filter for my Brita!

    No pre-soaking required!
Compared to Britta, Pur or other brand water pitcher filters, these are much smaller in size and lighter in weight. I'm not sure what kind of water filtration technology these EcoPure filters use, but they have grooves and holes in them (see picture) and inside you can see something akin to a vacuum cleaner filter. So they are not filled with carbon dust like the major brand filters and there are no black carbon particles that can end up floating in your filtered water. That's definitely a plus. Another plus is that you don't have to pre-soak them. When you need to change filters, you just put the EcoPure filter in your water pitcher, fill it with water and it will start filtering right away and quite quickly. I haven't tested them extensively enough to say that water filtered through the EcoPure filters tastes better or worse than through other brand filters. I'm using these filters in an HDX (Home Depot) water pitcher and I found that when I fill it with too much water, the filter pops out of place a little, resulting in unfiltered water to mix with the filtered water. The remedy I guess is to not fill the pitcher to the max with water. I'm not sure if this will be a problem with the Britta or Pur water pitchers or if these EcoPure filters are just better designed for those brands of water filtration pitchers.

Previously these filters did not deposit charcoal dust in the bottom of my Brita pitcher but this current batch is and that is disappointing.
