Can a garden hose be used instead of the units hose and will it connect to the threads on the unit?
Yes, as long as the diameter of your garden hose is the same as the diameter of the drainage hose.
Does the product clean the air?
Good performance so far but I can’t figure out how to get the settings right such that you set the humidity level (say 50) press run on the machine and then it auto shuts off once 50 is achieved and then auto turns on if humidity is >50. Please advise.
Thank you for your question, its program is not set to turn off once the set value is reached, but needs to have a difference, the difference is about 4%-5%, for example, set to 50%, so that when the air humidity is reduced to about 45%, the machine will automatically shut down. Similarly, when the air humidity reaches 55%, the machine will automatically turn on. Hope it helps!
The specs listen on Home Depot's website states 240 volts. All other units I am familiar with are 120 volts. Which is right?? No model # given on web page. (50 pt./2000 sq.ft.)

How do I get the filter grate off to clean filter
Thank you for your question. There are illustrations on about page 6 of the instruction manual showing you how to remove the filter. Rmove the water tank and then take out the filter. When you take the tank out, you can reach into the machine, there is a gap under the air intake, you can take out the filter. Thank you!

Do you have to use drain hose and can it be shut off and just empty the bucket?
Thanks for your question. This machine does not have to use a drain hose. It can also be drained through the water tank. When the water tank is full, the machine will automatically shut down. After draining the water, put it back in place and the machine can continue to work. Thank you!
